The number of restraunt workers in the comments saying they would love to do this confirms a hunch I've always had. Waiters generally resent the people buying food from them. And I don't blame them. Restraunts are an artificial environment. It divides people into two social classes. One are the servants and the other are (mostly) working class people who want to feel like masters for half an hour. This is why I try to avoid sit down restraunts whenever possible.
