You say you’re running an AC? Can we have more details? How many BTU? How long can you run it? We’re in CA and that would be awesome but I always read that I wouldn’t be able to,run an AC on Solar
Ответитьcan you more than one batter to the solar panel ? if so , how more more batteries can you add ?
ОтветитьWhere am I gonna find a 10mm socket!?🤣
ОтветитьCan you easily have power go out to a small breaker box instead of an extension cord?
ОтветитьGreat video, one question; where you discuss the 12 gauge ext cable, can this cable be an L14-30 so as to plug into a junction box to back load a house electrical panel? The L14-30 is 4 prong where you use a 3 wire 12 gauge ext cord. So not sure this is possible. Thanks
ОтветитьCurious based on the other videos I watched;
- why did you go with THIS battery vs the Trophy Battery I just watched?
10mm socket? Well im screwed...
Ответитьnice battery.
ОтветитьBeginner And Budget Friendly DIY Solar Power System! Anyone can build this!
ОтветитьEhhh honestly for most people I would suggest the Growatt SPF 5000 ES. Yeh you need 120V to start the solar charge controller, but it means that you can put like almost 5000W of solar in series due to the upper limit being 420VDC and the maximum 450VOC with for example Canadian Solar 410MS panels you can put 12 panels in series meaning 4,920W of solar, and that would only be 13.23A and the solar charge controller can take a maximum 100A... so yeh plenty of room on the amperage side.
the 120V starting voltage is somewhat of a problem if you want to start off with a small system or especially if you plan to put it in a van where you are limited on space for panels and getting upto 120V is basically impossible without extending beyond the roof pretty significantly, you can do that with flip out / slide out panels, but you still want to be able to use the panels while the others are stowed, so in that case you would be significantly better off with the Growatt SPF 5000 TL HVM-48-P as the 60V minimum MPPT solar charge controller is manageable in that case.
And if you want to add flip out / slide out solar panels... you needed it in parallel anyway because while because while stowed if in series it would stop the other exposed panels from generating power and second it was going to take you way more effort to mount the panels in way where you can relatively easily deploy them while parked and make sure they are secure while driving so you already were in for a project, doing parallel strings and adding a combiner box is a relatively small addition.
Could you use something like this to power an rv through the 30amp connection? (I am a complete electrical noob, help)
ОтветитьOne man's budget build is another man's rent money.
ОтветитьThank you . I have 6x12v 200Ah gel batteries and 12,x2500watts panels and 100amp MPPT change control.
What is the best way to set up this system.
Connecting the panels and batteries -serices or pararel
How did you learn all this are you a full time electrician? Can I learn this at community college or online program?
ОтветитьThanks for this very well done video. Woulld you have a recomandation for a solar system to recharge an electric car ?
ОтветитьSo sweet. How does one run dc loads in this situation.
ОтветитьHi what about the noise of this unit?
ОтветитьI'm 100% new to solar.
I thought I had at least average intelligence. That is until I got on ytube and started watching videos about solar systems. My brain hurts.
I'm turning a shipping container into an off grid cabin.
I want to have,
1. Four led lights.
2. One 9,000btu mini split a/c.
3. Three outlets for charging stuff.
I bought a Jupiter 5,000 watt 12v inverter $350 and two 100watt each panels $119 each.
I want to use Li Time batteries $290 each.
Question, do I return all these items and start over?
I have a $3,000. Budget and can NOT go over it.
Is it doable for this dollar amount?
Should I return everything and start with a different brand?
I need mental help, lol.
Thank for the information you are awesome!!!
ОтветитьHi Will, how interested are you in large scale solar (i.e., commercial) projects?
ОтветитьGOOD , thanks
Ответитьdoes the growatt only run 110 volts, or can it be switched to 220? shane, tipperary, ireland
ОтветитьI'm trying to solar power my water shed. It has 2 pumps running at 115V. One pump uses 13.8Amps, the other 8.8Amps. My calculations come out to about 2600Watts. However, this is not continuous. They only turn on when the water pressure reaches a minimum level. Since it's not continuous, I'm not exactly sure what size system to get. Do you have any suggestions?
ОтветитьBudget friendly. Ha ha.
ОтветитьYou may help me repeat the system sizing of solar panels
Ответить1,000 Watts for 5 hours? Probably be better to have 2,000 watts for 5 hours (2 batteries)
Then it's probably better to have 2000 Watts for 50 hours. (20 batteries X $1500 = $30,000 😆?) To run a whole house? In case it's cloudy out for four days straight? wait... was that right?
I still say if you don't live in the US in a country that doesn't tariff China imports.... Knowing what you know you could build that same capacity battery for $300. And you could probably order that same capacity inverter for $300. That's the real cost of that componentry now. Only in China or countries with free trade agreement with China.
I’m a newb, what could I power with that? How long does it take to charge? And is there a way to connect this system to my car’s alternator so that it charges up when the car is on?
ОтветитьToo much money😮
ОтветитьThank you for posting this informative solar post, thumbs up and I subscribed, cheers !
ОтветитьNice setup but not even close to being affordable😕
ОтветитьThanks for info, been wanting to get into solar
ОтветитьHow would you take a grid tie system and connect it to battery pack if it is setup to do that?thanks in advance
ОтветитьDo you think I can run this growatt with a midnight kid as a second charge controller for a separate string of panels?
ОтветитьDown voted for lack of chapters, and lack of final cost easy to find.
ОтветитьWith this set up, is the battery able to handle discharge of power over night and recharge during the day or is it purely a back up?
How long would recharge require with full sun, south exposure?
what is a good split phase inverter for running back up well pump? and id like to run some led lights and possibly a few refrigerators? is there a way to do it without getting two single phases. I want a reliable unit based on your experience
ОтветитьSuch a good video. Thank you, this is what I’m looking for
ОтветитьCan that inverter connect to main panel?
ОтветитьHello. I don't have much knowledge when it comes to this so l'm looking for help. I am building a small system for my home. Not for daily use just emergency use only. I have three 100w 12V solar panels and a 30A controller. What battery and inverter should I buy? The brand doesn't matter.
Any info would be appreciated. Thank you so much !
Can you parallel this inverter?
ОтветитьHey great vid! I need to run 24 hrs Wi-Fi/internet 3 outdoor cameras and a mini fridge for a small tinkering area yard I used to work on my truck / projects . Will this be suffice ?
Ответитьthis by far not a budget friendly set up, tell the truth
ОтветитьCan I add more batteries for longer run times? I'm thinking like 3 parallel connected battery packs.
ОтветитьHi, how much panel does this growatt all in one inverter can handle?
ОтветитьDoes this provide me with 220v so I can run a pool pump.
ОтветитьIm still new to all this. I really want to set up a row of solar panels along my vinyl fence. But i have to do some math first. I have to figure out how much i can use. Currently i have a 100 amp box in my home. I dont know how to do it for fear of electrocuting myself.
ОтветитьI'm still learning about building my own solar system but how does a solar array with 85 volts work with the charge controller that's rated at 24 or 48 volts? Does lower the voltage then step up the amperage to power the battery?
Ответитьwhat kind of air conditioner can you power with this system
Ответить
