Judging by all the clues and how they like to have hidden words and meanings. I think there is one answer.

That man in the picture of the real boy with " Hello Friend " was likely him meeting someone in an unknown location. The last clue, that means the boy in that picture must have gotten his face ripped off by something. From the context I think that strange steve did that because he had blood on his face and it looks just unnatural. Could it he that boys face ? Possibly. Is it ? Probably not. Altought what The Raven is, is unknown, something ripped his face off, something was strong enough to do that. The first clue, the strange steve in the forest. Meaning that, that boy in the real life picture was possibly in front of that forest waiting to meet someone. And then the raven ripped his face off. Or did it ? " We are the answer " could there be multiple steves ? My conclusion to this puzzle :

The Raven is a higher being and the steves are the answer to this whole mystery.
