I have a Mackie ProFX16v#. How do I setup Cakewalk to record a vocal track and not get the audio from the other tracks to record into vocal track?

Is there a way to normalize or increase the audio? I would expect to highlight the segment and right click and get that option like I get in Adobe Audition but don't get that

im am looking for a solution to delete gaps in an audio track. e.g I record an audio turorial for learning language. In this audio file are too many explanations about the words and I do delete the areas I don't need. How then can I move all audio parts joined together without the gaps in between?

I have not seen any tutorial on how to record over tracks so you can improve or correct a specific part just like in garageband. Usually it starts a beat before the part you want to record over. Can you do that in bandlab?

I was watching a tutorial that they had by a producer using Pro Tools, and he was able to affect the gain of a clip in a track real quick by moving a little fader just to the bottom left of the clip. And you could see the waveform get louder and softer in real time. Does cakewalk have a similar way of doing this?

Hi! Thanks for the help! I’m having an issue where whenever I split a specific clip, it changes the pitch of the whole thing and sounds terrible. Do I have some setting on that causes it to do this? Even when I copy and paste the sound into a new track it does the same thing.

with the waveform zoomed way in, you can see the click, where the waveforms clips do not meet at the exact same dB, you can go into the edit mode using free form, and you can actually write in a join that is smooth.

Heya.. there's a quicker way to change your editing tools [Tools Module] . While you're hovering over you audio track press the middle button (the mouse wheel) and you will see the "Tools Module" pop up, (slightly opaque, so you can see the audio wave form underneath.. Then select the tool you want use it, and the "Tool Module" will disappear. this saves using the mouse, going up to the tool, and then back to the audio track.. I find this a really quick way to do this.

I've listened to this video a couple of times and I can't follow what you're doing. You leave critical actions off screen and don't adequately explain them. I can't even delete empty parts of my audio track even though you are saying it's easy. Maybe it's just me but I'm a little disappointed. I will have to move on and try to find someone who is really trying to help a beginner.

I'm starting with Cakewalk. Do you have any videos on arranging tracks? Putting all guitar tracks together, lead, solo etc. Then a pitch correction plugin for guitar, NOT vocal, everyone does VOCAL but never seen tutorial of an electric guitar pitch correction. Thanks.

I agree with everyone else, you are a great teacher. Have learned a lot from watching your videos. One thing I have been trying to figure out about Cakewalk and haven't been able to is: Can Cakewalk transpose (change the key of an Karaoke MP4 ). If it can, could someone reply to this question here please. Thanks

You may have already done a video on this, but I haven't found it if you have. I recorded an acoustic piano track that can not be rerecorded since the piano no longer is available to me. I put midi tracks around it, but they are tuned slightly higher in pitch, barely cents above the original piano. It would take me too much time adjusting 21 midi tracks to the same pitch. It would be easier to adjust the piano's pitch to the midi tracks. Is this possible on Cakewalk?

Mike you have literally knocked years off the learning process . I thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us. There's one thing I can't seem to get to work and I've watched your video on it . I believe it was called( Vocal Thickening Trick in cakewalk). I go in preferences to nudge make sure the first and second selections are set to 10 milliseconds lets say then hit apply but when I select a track that I want to nudge the entire track it doesn't do anything . Does it only work on clips? I'm trying to use it for stereo imaging. I've been doing it manually with the move tool with snap set to 1/128 note. Is there a way to nudge an entire track like that ? I would think there has to be. Thanks again.

Where is the external audio editor option in Cakewalk ? I have been using that in combination with Cool Edit Pro and eventually with Audition. It seems that option has disappeared entirely! In every DAW external audio editor is a must and can be set.
How can I set an external audio editor ?
Any hint would be greatly appreciated !
PS: thank you for this great video !
