Whenever my partner is gone, I pretend that they’re right here nex to me, becaus I lay on their chest every night and listen to their heart, every so often I have nightmares about the day that they almost died, and I use this to comfort myself and remind myself that they’re still here.

The beating of his heart slowly vanished as did his hopes and dreams not long ago.
