Do you also sell the Gerber files or boards? I'd like to make a battery charger to power a raspberry pi for our summer trip.
ОтветитьI try to understand this kind of thing. I wish I did.
I am trying to plug a usb solar and 18650 batteries to a pico w or aduino nano. For a long time run.
Do you know of good sites to do that?
I have an imarrz 50 watt panel and a cheap phone charger you can put your own 18650 batteries in and it works great!
8 batteries done per day!
I use these for charging 3.7c battery's (the cables they come with are extremely thin) need to buy a actual 3.7v charger/discharger tester
For solar lights that use the normal 3.7v battery, I install the battery only bms witch covers over and under voltage and short protection in one strip (just a long strip "10pcs 3A BMS protection board for 1S 3.7V") wish the top voltage range was closer to 4v not 4.2v (think 2.5v lower end is fine believe 2.0v is when battery damage happens )
Excellent Video!! Convinced me I really do need a commercial solution and informed me as to necessary features. Thank you for your clarity.
Ответить⚡🔌💡🧠
ОтветитьUnless you know what your doing and how to do it I would buy one to be on the safe side
ОтветитьNice project. *thumbs up*
If you want to simplify to a barebones level, then 6V panels (in parallel), with a Schottky diode, and a protection circuit (with DW01 and 8205A) will do the trick. Probably horrendous efficiency.
If you go for a bigger panel, then you put a Linear Regulator between the Diode and the DW01, and mybe add a resistor to limit the current. Again, likely horrendous efficiency.
But either solution is extremely simple while being sufficiently safe. And if you want to scale it up to multiple cells, then you'd need a DW01 / 8205A combo for each of them.
Of course, if you wish to charge the battery of your old Nokia 3210 or 8210, or whatever protected battery, you don't need the DW01.
Thanks for the great video !
Your test results actually tell me TP4056 linear charger board is a STRONG competitor on the market. It is cheap and widely availabe, and it is efficiency is a very high baseline (suppose you have a 5V solar pannel and Li-ion battery is @3.7V which give you 74% efficiency). It is generally quite hard to optimize the efficiency of DCDC buck converter to more than 75% in DIY proejcts....especially when the input voltage is somewhat variable.
60 to 80% is not too bad if that is combining a charge and boost steps.
Ответитьwhere is the board about that ic
ОтветитьSorry , i am missing something. What is MPPT?
Ответитьnuclear reactor: DIY or Buy?
ОтветитьI’d love to see this video remade with more recent technology :)
ОтветитьWhere we buy the pbc you've make?
ОтветитьA few years have passed. Have you come across a viable alternative in recent years, or do you still prefer your DIY solution?
ОтветитьWhere can I find the protection circuit module you used?
ОтветитьSuper 👍👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 good
ОтветитьAlways connect the battery first then the panel
ОтветитьHow to calculate the R8 and R9 for a given solar panel? I want to use the tiny one you used.
ОтветитьBUY WIN . Solar power is small.
ОтветитьOh . 18volts buck driver 3.7volts no bad. Thà rằng sử dụng năng lượng mặt trời 6volts 8watt và mua bán sẵn
ОтветитьI made a 6v 70mA solar panel charger with TP4056 and an 18750 battery which in 3 days with sun is 100%
ОтветитьCan you suggest a set of panels for outside usage….my plan is to make a solar tracker
It has to have enough wattage to turn a small dc motor…..
The internet: DIY or BUY
ОтветитьHello Scott!
I use tp4056 + solar panel 5v to charge my 18650 battery.
Thank you for all the information on how the solar charger works and how we might be able to make our own
ОтветитьLovely project did you publish any circuit detail I would like to build one for myself. Thanks Chris
ОтветитьIn my LiPo batteries, which I recently purchased, each contains a built-in PCB that provides overcharge and overdraw protection. Why are you going through all this? I used a 5V cellphone charger and they charged up perfectly. Am I missing something?
ОтветитьSuch a perfectionist..... Goes to test a solar panel outside. Gets frustrated by inconsistent solar radiation hahaha I'm with you sir.
ОтветитьThe diy solution is very impressive. Im currentlu working on the exact dame circuit for my research project and i was trying to change the resister devider to retro fit an 18v input. But like you said it had no protection on the battery side. Im going to be using this video for my research thank you
Ответитьhi, we are planning to do a mppt charge controller for a 25w polycrystalline PV panel and a 12v litium ion battery of 7.5ah. can to suggest us a better circuit diagram of mppt charge controller
ОтветитьI came up with an idea to make solar charger for led strip lights, and that to be driven by photoresistor relay (to switch on when its darker etc).
Now I dont need how many LED's, maybe 10 or so, but would you mind explaining how should that be done please?
More than actually having it simplified for me to just copy/paste or follow your tutorial, I'd love to understand it and know why and what I'm doing, so I can play in future and maybe do more LED's or w.e. else comes across my crazy mind :D
Thank you very much!
definitely buy!!😐
you put all additional cost to any diy er who want do him self. but your conclusion always were, are ,will = more cost more money.
just buy buy buy. from flux to modules....
is this exactly diy???
either alot of advertise in your clips.
dont do this way.
Excellent reviews considering the fuel crisis and price hike we are looking for an innovative solutions that may or may not contribute
Ответитьcan you charge a phone and lipo battery in parallel with solar using this setup?
ОтветитьI have been looking for a video about small solar powered projects. This is exactly what I needed! I subscribed as soon as i saw your Channel name. Great Scott! I say that all the time! 😁
ОтветитьHello
First let me echo what the rest have said about how GreatScott your videos are.
What if you wanted to add wireless charging on your DIY option?
What would be your choices step by step please?
How can I Dye 51.2 v car battery Lifepo4 charge from solar panel of 90+ voc Please send digram

ОтветитьWhat is the name of the cable that connects to the usb?
ОтветитьHey
I wanna ask why you placed 0.05ohm current sense resistor. Were you aiming for a charging current of 2 amperes??
Like I went with a current sense resistor of 0.12 ohms for a current of 1 ampere.
how many battery cell support this charger ??
ОтветитьHi, is there a solution similar to the one proposed by GreatScott video but managing 12v battery and 12v load?
Ответить"the whole process tuka meh twar haurs"
Ответитьplease do a mppt circuit for 12v 200ah battery.
Ответитьcan you do a 20A or 30A video..
ОтветитьNice video. I have a question, the over discharge and short circuit protections are not included on-cell in the battery?
