How To Set Custom Text Tones For Specific Contacts On Samsung Galaxy S23/S23+/S23 Ultra

Thank you! I tried figuring this out myself to no avail then I was looking for a video that would show how to set custom text notifications for each contact and I finally found you! I didn't think of tapping on "details" after tapping on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. I was trying to help my husband with his new phone. Very helpful!

THIS! Is why I STILL use My ancient S7 that keeps losing apps as they are "not supported by your device" BUT, still have all My custom ring and text tones per contact that I can change ANYTIME without having to keep all old covos JUUUUST to have them 😁🖒👊🍻😒😔🙈.

So sad that after the Samsung ANDROID S7 they took the text tone field out of the Contacts list where it belongs. So obviously like you said we all know you have to keep at least one text message / conversation for EVERY contact that you want a custom text tone for. You erase that text message and you lose the assignment. On to Apple as of today, in IOS 17 release on my iphone, this new release got rid of (perhaps a bug) custom ring tone assignment all together. You cannot even see the ones you uploaded or purchased. SO it will play the text tone you did assign but you CANNOT change it to another custom tone since you cannot see your custom ones. You only see now what came with the phone. Bad move.,....

how do you set a sms tone for a contact that doesn't have a conversation in the messages app, used to be able to set a tone, in the contacts details

Every time I delete someones message it goes right back to the original text alert sound. How do you change this???????????????

Yeah bit what about custom text tones for each contact separately... Like it used to be? I used to have it like that on my 20 note ultra

Do you happen to know how to do this for the S22?
When I open the specific person's conversation and then hit the 3 dots in the top right corner, these are my choices:
Delete messages // Search messages // Notification sound // Category // Customize chat room // Shared attachments.

I'd like to know how to set a specific notification sound, so that every message from this person has this notification sound. Whether it's a text message just to me, or a group text -- but all from just this one person.

Is this something you can help me with? Thank you in advance for your help!

So Stupid, then when you delete the message it goes right back to the original text alert sound. The only way this works is if you keep the message forever in your in box ..
