It reminded me of entropy, which always grows, and arrow of time.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing. 👩
ОтветитьInteresting how this concept is embraced through many cultures across the world. In the US the wabis sabi has been embraced by a class of people on would call old money. They are the inheritors of generational wealth and the trappings of it. they have great old houses, filled with hand me down art and furnishings from generations past. Same with art, jewelry, vehicles and other material goods. The patina that can only be earned by loving care through the ages is where the beauty lays. Stewardship versus consumerism - with the understanding of these values handed down to our children..
ОтветитьOk this is an old video, but for me the "imperfect" is the "perfect". In the sense that, in the cause and effect and randomness nature of reality whatever "imperfect" result apperas to us, is the end result of the route of least resistance in every second. It could have been shaped differently, but because some circumstance had to happened and the end result is also different. This is the whole ying yang thing where randomness and order come togehter to create the imperfect/perfect result we see in the current moment.
ОтветитьNo body is perfect
ОтветитьMy car got busted out in the back and the body shop repainted it but I can notice it’s not perfect like it was. The color is off. Should I embrace this? It bothers me…
ОтветитьWabi sabi is very close to principals of Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT).
ОтветитьBrilliant ! Thank you
ОтветитьIf you think wabi sabi is about being an slack and conformist, you havent understand wabi sabi at all. Wabi sabi gives us patience, empathy, forgiveness. It does not takes our purpose, but tell us that our humanity relies on this imperfection, and that is beautiful.
ОтветитьThe futile hunt for perfection also contributes to the obsession with cleanliness and order that destroys natural habitats to this day. Mind you, I am not speaking about the indoors or personal hygiene. But acres and acres of mono culture, manicured lawn. Without flowers, nothing. Maintained for no reason at all but for showing off to other humans. Not even children playing on them. Just there to look orderly as a testimony to the owner s hard work and diligence. No wonder, insects, birds and even hedgehogs are getting so rare or are even becoming extinct. But Nature does not see orderliness as perfection. In the contrary. Nature is brimming with life, variety, diversity and abundance.
ОтветитьGreat
ОтветитьWabi-sabi and Kintsugi, etc are based on the Buddhist philosophy that "Everything in the world is not constant, but always changing, and nothing is eternal(諸行無常)" and "Everything in the world exists through interconnection, mutual reliance, and mutual assistance, and nothing exists on its own.(諸法無我)" The last words of the Buddha, who breathed his last surrounded by white camellia trees, were "All things are changing."
ОтветитьMy favorite video. Thank you
ОтветитьWonderful video. Thank you for making this
ОтветитьMusic?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. It's fantastically well-made. I will surely revisit it from time to time.
ОтветитьI still like a little bit of wabi sabi on my sushi
ОтветитьLooks good, I’m trying this but since I’m from Indian household I have to change some ingredients but still good
ОтветитьIt is delusional to pursuit something that you don't really understand because most people don't understand what "perfection" is. It is like "happiness," because everybody has their definition of the word "happiness." If we disagree among with each other about something, it means our knowledge about that thing erroneous. We only have a conflicting belief about that thing.
ОтветитьI like my wasabi wabi sabi
ОтветитьI really needed this at this particular time.
ОтветитьThanks for this amazing explanation.
ОтветитьGod- do not criticise yourself or become depressed for not being perfect in your own eyes, this leads only to frustration. I want you to trust me one day, one step, one moment, one second at a time.
ОтветитьThis is why in Japan Kintsugi is a popular art of making pottery or plates with purposeful cracks in them, then filling the cracks with gold to enhance the flaws.
Ответить"We are mearly explorers of infinity, in the pursuit of absolute perfection." - Hardy, The Man Who Knew Infinity
I think it is ok to pursue "perfection". Just make sure that you're not pursuing someone else. And know that you can never reach it. Enjoy the process. Not just focus on the destination.
Man i need to hear this bad. Everyone tells me im handsome.
But all i see are my insecurities and imperfection.
In wabi-sabi terms, I'm killing it
ОтветитьI never was .. it's easy
ОтветитьI never thrive to be perfect because I'm naturally perfect, what can be done ,it's my fate
ОтветитьThis is speaking to me I was seeking perfection in my trading career but this video makes me relialised that there's nothing like perfection.... thanks for the video 🔥
ОтветитьNothing wrong with second best.
ОтветитьYesssss
ОтветитьIf we wouldn't have willpower to achieve something seeking 'perfection' we would still living on caves with wabi-sabi doing company. However this concept is applicable for all uncorrected workaholics.
ОтветитьSomehow, everytime i start to confuse with my life, listen to your channel help me to blow away all the negative feeling. Really appreciate all of your hard work to bring inner peace to so many people out there including me.
ОтветитьIs it social anxiety or perfectionism if I feel like I am not allowed to make mistakes in public? I myself believe in learning by failure and don't care abt making mistakes in private but not in public.
ОтветитьI'm just what I want to be. Whenever I changed, I wanted that change. When I change me that's my fucking prerogative and only mine. Get a fucking life.
ОтветитьFucking fool! Who can teach me perfection????? Who can make me perfect??? 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩😜😜
Ответить💜
ОтветитьThe example isn’t that great because counterintuitively as every chef knows it is much worse to cut yourself with a dull knife than a sharp one.
ОтветитьThey invented the mistake when they attacked the US Pearl Harbor.
ОтветитьI think a bit different....I think struggling for perfection makes a thrill challenge in life which gives motivation energy enthusiasm to do something better...like if we make a knife then making it bit blunt will not give satisfaction and when a sharp knife is made it gives the satisfaction and also increases self esteem at the same time....
So I think this philosophy is for weak and tired people who doesn't feel power to bring out something innovative and more accurately
My favorite manager/mentor a few years ago told me "Perfection is the enemy of good enough". I try to keep this in mind every day.
ОтветитьNature? No. God created decay and death to teach us a lesson. The earth was perfect in the beginning. Humans ruined it. This life. is our test to return back to the creator of everything. Live your life, love your neighbors, love God.
ОтветитьThe reason why I don't believe in perfection is because it does not exist in the universe. The universe itself is not perfect, so we, creatures created by, and therefore, aspects of the universe can not attain perfection. For us, perfection is inhumane. The perfect human would have to be able to accomplish everything alone, what humanity is able to accomplish together, the perfect human would have to be to entirety of all the power in the universe. It is to near perfection. What does that mean? It means to know that you persist towards the absurdity of it so that you ultimate decline, death, is nearest it, Plato would agree. It is not to be the ideal, it is to appreciate a better reality pursuing the direction of the ideal knowing that the pursuit gets you closer to perfection, but that perfection is of the mind and not to be made evident by the universe. Plato wishes for civilization to be guided by philosophical thought, philosophy is the love of wisdom, it is wise to know that perfection is unattainable, but the pursuit of the ideal does not negate pursuit in the direction of the ideal. Ultimately, for each segment of Plato's hierarchy to flourish, the directing of the civilization in the direction of the ideal would be his obvious preference. Each catagory finds itself operating in an environment, where their activities are in the direction the leader who is supposed to be accomplished and forward looking, which is promoting an approach of making real the ideal. It is only because the ideal is so high, and life always has ups and downs, like a rollercoaster, that Plato concludes that perfection is not attainable. The philosopher he desires for head, seeks precision and efficiency instead! Wabi-Sabi, the beauty of perfect imperfection! The joy of being free from the stress of having to be perfect, and knowing that being exceptional is as simple as being yourself, Wabi-Sabi!
ОтветитьVery well explained...
ОтветитьI think acceptance is the only perfection there is....
ОтветитьThank you
