At first I played doom 3 i was on edge.

Later I'm like. "LITTLE BASTARDS COME HERE!?!?!?"

Welcome to the world of reloading. Well reloading you can't just pull a gun out of your ass. That's how things working in real life. You have to drop the gun witch stops the reloading.

I never played a ton of the original Doom games, so the nostalgia wasn't a factor when playing Doom 3. I think this is a fantastic game that owns itself in its differences from its predecessors. This is MY Doom and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great game. Shotgun sucks though. I wish some modders would fix all the problems in this game. Then it could become a real masterpiece.

Sounds like complaints to me, 1. If you don't want the weapon reload to happen pay attention to your ammo count swap the weapon before it needs reloading. 2. The imps jumping open doors at an angle always be prepared for it. Adapt to your environment don't complain.

I was never a huge fan of this. It was good for what it was, but I prefer the original ones.

this hits dead on the mark about how I feel about this game. I love it, but I could write a friggin dissertation on all of its issues.

the textures are blurry with new systems due to the age of the game & it not being able to recognise newer hardware, this can be fixed by editing a few lines in the cfg file, makes it look 10x better

Doom fans always seemed to divide into two camps. Those who played the original pc game and prized the fast paced gameplay, and those who valued the Sci fi / horror angle.
My first Doom experience was the PS1 port so Doom3 has always been my favourite entry in the franchise as it really doubles down on the horror and dread.

I just played through this for the first time in my life, having never stuck with it for more than a few hours when it first came out. It was also a VR playthrough; VR alters the gameplay somewhat, but I agree on all points here, those ambushes got damn old.
It was an enjoyable but frustrating game.

It's the scariest game I've ever played.
I don't understand how many people didn't like it. The sick, gloomy, and evil atmosphere of this game makes it almost unique.

Doom 3 is just a poor man's Dead Space now. Very revolutionary for the time but the genre has much better offerings.

Not to be mean but get better at the enemies popping out. It's not as bad as you make it out to be. I mean, it's tough but it's a survival horror game and this mechanic is actually quite awesome. Makes you work on your feet.

For me, Doom 3 isn't Doom and that took me a while to get over initially I must admit. However, now I can recognize that it's a pretty good claustrophobic FPS that I occasionally enjoy revisiting.

Honestly, i think this game is an absolute masterpiece still to this day. All the “bad” things you mentioned in the video are good for the game, because it mostly revolves around taking control away from the player. That’s what makes Doom 3 so nerve-racking. And don’t even get me started on the story, setting and lore - it’s just soooo damn cool! I absolutely love this game. It’s one of my favorite games of all time.

when i played it for the first time i feel it is actually remake of the first doom where doom guy arrives to his post and the entire corporation over rid by demons after opening the portal and and when u encounter 2 hell knights for the first time which refers to bruiser brothers in the classic doom before u go to hell and in the end u fight hell's mightiest demon cyber demon just like the classic doom

The zombie marines are the worst fn enemy's in this game I hate em. No matter what you do you take damage which is bs.

As Gman said, fighting enemies in front of you, while having them spawn behind you is very cheap. That's what I didn't like about Doom 3. There was just too much of that.

Original version of Doom 3 was on sale for $1.49 on Steam today. Never been easier to make the choice on whether to buy a game or not.

lol 5800... u fucked up... feel ya though had the benefit of going 9800 pro for hl2.. the delay allowed enough time that by the time the 6800 ultra came out i had enough for it motivated by the shit performance in the demo... best card i've owned.

Had a 5400 prior and learned bout NVidia's folly for that gen at only 100 bucks lost thank God.

I remember playing this with a pentium 4 CPU and an Nvidia 6600GT with 128mb of ram, I think that computer had 1gb of memory. This was truly a "next gen" game when it came out.

It’s funny how people have become diehards with the flashlight as a separate item like id “intended”. But in reality Carmack admitted in 2014 that it was mounted originally but the extra dynamic light in every scene was a major hit to performance so they made it separate to help with performance. Not gameplay.

good review but, you are wrong about the reloading aspect. you can toggle auto-reloading from the option menu.
