Please could you help me. I had this app just as you show it - grey and it disappeared from my apps about a month ago. Some research showed that the app has changed to a multicoloured icon. I downloaded the 'new' icon. It has not retained any of my information, and since I need it to get into my accounts I no longer have access to a QR code because I would need to be inside the app to get it. Thanks, pleeeeze x

Similar to RSA token, I used the RSA token to log in into a server to work online. My RSA token had a password that changes every 30 second or 60, I dont remember any more. To add extra security, the RSA token should work with another password. To log in you enter your 4 numbers password, wait for the RSA change, then enter as apear on the token. This kind of security has been used for a while.

What happens if you had a old phone and don’t have it anymore and have a new phone and try to sign in with google authenticator but it won’t give you a code because you have a new phone? How would you get a set up key?


Example I bet on Fanduel I no longer have my old device. I’m trying to sign in to Fanduel but can’t because the google authenticator is registered on my old device.

I don't understand the scanning procedure. Did you scan the QR code with the authenticator app? ... After watching a different video, I see that you need to click on the + sign in the authenticator app to bring up the QR scanner.

I am unable to log back into my account via the Google authenticator app. None of the codes work. Only way I can access my Facebook account via my phone is to get on my home computer and use their security login codes. What am I doing wrong?

My concern with the Google Authenticator is that the app itself isn’t password protected. Is there a way to enable that? The Microsoft one lets me use a fingerprint login but wants to take control of passwords already saved with Google.

So you didn't recommend SMS text and now that is no longer an option. However, with 2FA after getting a new phone, Google Authenticator no longer has my Facebook on there and now I can't authenticate to get back into my account. Everyone be warned. They've changed 2FA and this video is outdated!!
