Rollo's story with ragnar was a love hate story , rollo used to love his brother because otherwise he could backstab ragnar at the very begining when he wasn't even a jarl ; he believed in ragnar's plan on sailing to the west without any doubt and followed him and also choosed the loyalty to his brother over being the favour to jarl haraldson and get rich ,after that he also got tortured by jarl haraldson and didn't told the jarl where ragnar is when ragnar was heavily injured but however at the same time he was jealous on him because of lagertha. then he betrayed his brother just because he wanted to be equal with him as he mentioned that and he felt disregarded by his brother but at the end he also betrayed his own heritage and country just when he lost everything he had in order to get rich and be a duke. And he believed that was his destiny that the gods choosed for him
