I would also add to your video the fact that if you don't want to install a second operating system, you should download Oracle VM VirtualBox (I am running version 5.1.6 and it works fine) and install from the .ISO

When did you make the ISO and how did you place it on the Hyper-V server's drive?

I thought this is a piece of software, it turned out to be an entire operating system and now Im stuck with that blue screen about configurating the server. any idea in how to go back from there to my windows 7

If i choose to install Hyper-V on my laptop which has pretty much everything valuable to me (ranging from schoolwork to photos and programs), will it completely format the hard disk drive and transfer it all to Hyper-V/Windows Server? HAVE A QUESTION: Can I install this product without having an Active Directory server.   The setup seems to suggest that this should be possible with WORKGROUP.    I am in that situation and it does not work form.   The network setup is not correct without an AD.   Can you give any suggestion?

Great tutorial! I was trying to assign Hyper-V role to Server 2012R2 but eventually it didn't work. The error message was "Hyper-V cannot be installed: A hypervisor is already running." There is a way to enable Hyper-V by using Windows PowerShell. I was able to create a virtual machine on Hyper-V but again the v-machine wouldn't start. The error message was "Failed to start the virtual machine because one of the Hyper-V components is not running." (adding hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = "FALSE" in vmx file and disabling I/O verification didn't help either.) I pull off the role and followed your way to enabling Hyper-V through installing features of it. However, Hyper-V manager can't connect to the host computer. Uhh. Do you have any idea how to connect to the host to be able then to create a working virtual machine? Please.

HELP!!! i installed this on windows 8.1 and whenever i go on it it prompts me to change my password, every password i type i cant change it. So that basically means i cant get on my pc. I tried resetting my pc but it failed and i tried everything!!!! I dont have any extra stuff to help me reset it, and i made a backup on a partition but i cant choose it! This makes me angry!!

i don't get it, why use hyper-v core?  after core you successfully created a vm with hyper-v gui, but why did you start off the video with 2012 r2 hyper-v core?

when I try to increase the startup memory to 1024 for the new virtual machine, I get an "out of bounds" error. The vm player that's hosting Hyper-V has 2GB RAM. Any idea why this is? I'm just beginning to learn all of this stuff so any help would be useful

Your setup is perfect for a domain environment, but what about workgroup setups for techs who are prepping hyper-v in their own labs to later deploy? Please consider providing a tutorial on hyper-v within a windows workgroup setup. Again though, thank you for your time.

Because when I installed Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V I can only seen tow windows are open one is command prompt and other is instruction prompt.
