LV is actually a Legacy brand so is Chanel as it is not supreme (believe me!) and there are a few brands above supreme which are so exclusive no one but those who need to know, know them. Even Wintour respects those

I can't imaging of buying any of them...they are too expensive and what if I get one would i be satisfied that I have spend so much on one bag. I rather use and throw the local bags.

I hate when people categorize brands like this. A lot of luxury brands fall into multiple tiers. Some brands even fall into all of them.

Accessible: Dumb Chanel sunglasses with CCs or camellias on the temple. They sell zillions of these to tourists at the Rue Cambon store, and have for ages. They're not even especially premium in terms of eyewear. (Some of their simple bags, those tacky flats with the logos on the toes, and other small accessories live in this tier.)

Luxury: The majority of their bags and clothes are luxury, and they have pieces that cater to each of the customers mentioned. (I would add another tier for edgier/artier brands under the luxury tier. Comme des Garcons, Yohji, Demeulemeester, etc. They're definitely their own thing with their own clientele.)

Supreme: They have their accessories that are part of the Couture and Metier d'Arts collections. (There are also more brands that fit into this tier, especially when you include men's bags. Berluti and Dunhill live here. Goyard does some pieces that are definitely "supreme." There are also niche houses that live in that tier.)

Dior does some of each tier. Chanel does some of each tier. Fendi does a little of everything. Vuitton does some of everything. I feel like it's better to look at things on a piece by piece basis. There's nothing tackier than buying luxury for the status of it. The goal should be connoisseurship. The more you have to spend, the better your taste should be.

Chanel doesn't deserve to be at the top anymore.
