only the Arabian horse is the best ever
ОтветитьPretty sure the two horses were best buddies and one of them just said "Bro, let's mess with the spectators today."
ОтветитьIt's worth mentioning that the Thoroughbred, being on the outside, ran further.
A cursory internet search shows the quarter horse's top speed as 55mph and the Thoroughbred only 44mph.
I'm struggling to believe the QH is a full 9 mph faster. I just don't see it. Perhaps the former was without a rider and tack.
For a quarter of a mile, the qtr horse would probably win. Hence their name, quarter horse. But for distance the thoroughbred wins.
ОтветитьQH today are 95 % TB’s
Ответитьfact - american horses actually died out approx 10000 years ago, so all its breeds are not actually from america. its main imports were from the british and spanish with both horses mixed and brought to the US
Ответитьfact- the quarter horse origin is from a mix of british and spanish horses, which wwas later brought to america
ОтветитьMy pinto mare is a descendent of Man O War and she has got bottom. I've seen her speed around her 12 acres for 20 minutes and not even break a sweat.
ОтветитьImagine if the QH had the stamina of TB
ОтветитьNo Rematch?
ОтветитьThat was TOO long of a race for a Quarter Horse to take on a Thoroughbred. Do something a few furlongs on a straight-away & the QH wins.
ОтветитьWhat special about the quarter horse they are light horses and not too big and too small fine animals Machallah
ОтветитьI'm interested in the match between Quarter Horse champion Barbara B. and sprinting Thoroughbred *Fair Truckle. It was run Aug. 4 ,1947 at Hollywood Park in California. A lot of money was bet. Barbara B. trounced *Fair Truckle. It was a big deal. I've been hoping to find a home movie or newsreel of it.
ОтветитьThere's gotta be such a crazy thrill being on a horse at that speed! Horses are the most beautiful creatures, and sadly, many are so mistreated it's crazy.
ОтветитьThe thoroughbred would not switch over to his right lead until the end or he would have put some distance between himself and the QH.
ОтветитьDude!!! How come there aren’t races like that? All I’ve seen were match races in Mexico but none in y the US. however h the hat’s really cool to see as well😀
ОтветитьWhat wining?
ОтветитьRacing quarter horses are basically thoroughbreds. Same with the English “show” quarter horses.
ОтветитьI'm actually surprised the TB could keep up when they broke from the gate. A good QH is explosive out of the gate.
ОтветитьExcellent marinated in a Cabernet and rosemary Demi glacé with saffron rice and spring carrots
ОтветитьGriswold was the best of his generation @ 870 yds.
ОтветитьWhich one was a quarter horse?
ОтветитьI was there! I have a picture ofme with Griswald at Pomona.
ОтветитьMoral ? - Q horses would beat other types - and like SBiscuit would sure alter value of "corn fed/free range" ones , which , mite explain why these fair races don't seem to happen so much these days - except of course , if you happen to be only grae in town !
ОтветитьWhich one is the quarter horse?
ОтветитьA plow horse will be a quarter horse at a long distance.
Ответитьand who won?
ОтветитьThey race together frequently at Los alamitos
ОтветитьThe TB is on the outside so, he is traveling a longer distance then the QH right out of the gate!
ОтветитьHoly moly!
ОтветитьQuarter horses are faster in short distances, thoroughbreds where bred for long distances and quarters where used for short distances, both breeds have thoroughbred in them
ОтветитьWho was who though.
ОтветитьThe horses are probably dead now. The losing horse was 100% sent to slaughter because it wasn't good enough, just like every other racehorse that doesn't win. Millions of racehorses are killed for their meat every year, no matter if they are champions or not, look at Ferdinand and Exceller! The winning horse probably died a brutal death on the racetrack or was slaughtered too. I can't believe horse racing is still legal after all the suffering it causes to horses. Ban it now!
ОтветитьWhich one is then QH
ОтветитьLiving Nascar ironic the horses are as replaceable to these idiots......let's make animals run in circles till they die of a heart attack of a broken leg. Thats if their lucky the unlucky ones end up dog food. Yeah what a amazing fucking sport
Ответитьholyshit tht was a great one
ОтветитьI love how they were both almost matched stride for stride
ОтветитьI know this may be a dumb question but how long are horse races in distance and why?
ОтветитьWhat is the difference in a quarter horse? Why is it called a quarter horse?
ОтветитьIn addition to a QH's speed, they have a tremendous amount of agility. Which is why they make great ranch and rodeo horses.
ОтветитьSecretariat would have kicked it's arse.
ОтветитьThe head on #1 is tremendous. Beaten already with a quarter to go but refuses to give up. Almost psyches the more capable one out.
Ответитьnot a fair race because of the position on the rail
ОтветитьMy 4yr Shiro that's his name he's 17.1 hands and is a tb/qh/mustang can clock out at 51 mh he's also an asshole can't really ride him because he bolts an with kick he's ill tempered almost tore the farriers face off he's never coming back he will not let almost anyone touch and trying to might cost you, either your life or a few fingers 😐 he bits and he won't let you go and will most likely drag you .. he's been called multiple names by my neighbors and family like for example the horse from hell or Satan's ride or fucker.
he's busted my six foot fence that holds him in his pasture on multiple occasions because he's tried to jump it and many times was very successful almost lost him one time before because he jumped the fence like a god damn deer I watched Shiro do it as I was looks out my kitchen window I was in complete disbelief I had to go out and try to catch him which is pretty much almost nearly impossible because he's holy fuck fast and can easily out maneuver my truck when trying to find him after he jail breaks.... I thought about giving him up for adoption but... I don't want to give up on him like his last owner I just don't what to do with my 1,345 lb brat
By the way he is very beautiful his color is red chestnut with black mane and tail and a black line from his mane to his tail and all four white stockings and on his forehead a star which looks more like a heart in my opinion
Why did it look like that the jockey for the QH wasn’t giving it enough rein for most of the race and that the tight rein held the QH back? The poor horse’s head was even being held too high. At around the 10 second mark of the video you can see the jockey start to shorten the rein and that’s when the QH quit gaining in its lead. I don’t have a preference of these two breeds, so I’m not biased in wanting either one to win, but to me it looks like the QH might have loss because of the jockey. Did anyone else notice this?
ОтветитьQuarter horses are one of the fastest breeds, they just don't have as much stamina as other breeds like Arabians or Thoroughbreds and others
ОтветитьI wish I could take that whip from the jockey's hand and belt him with it. See how he likes being beaten.
ОтветитьWait Who won The third thoroughbred or the quarter horse
ОтветитьRacing is so abusive- it shouldn’t be a thing.
ОтветитьThis is so disrespectful to beat a horse and to treat a horse like that.
Nothing than a money show. Those horses are treated cruel. Poor souls
