This scene makes a lot of sense once you watch the last chapter when Jimmy recognises the king of person he really is. It is so shocking that Chuck was always right.

Plot nitpick that just occurred to me: Chuck refers to Jimmy getting his law degree through "an online course." If BCS starts around 2002 (which I gather is canon), would law schools have been offering an online path to a J.D. back then?

Jimmy was not perfect by any means but Chuck constantly put him down and ruined any potential he had for playing it straight. He was a narcissist who just wanted Jimmy beneath him

What bad side on chuck is in season one when saul isnt born yet, chuck already planned the sh out of taking down everything on jimmy, over a f in simplified lawyer school... mf is sack redeez nuts. Should have suck on his book alot. Jimmy was a good guy turned upside down by the fact pushed by a little bit from chuck. We all admit it. Chuck was right we know, law is sacred, etc, but in season 1 jimmy did all good things. Turns out its the born of saul. Yes. Chuck is right but wrong target.

Chuck perfectly demonstrates that in life there is a difference between being right and doing what’s right. Amazing show.

I side completely with Jimmy on this one. I won't even argue whether Chuck was right to make that call or not, it was how he went against his own principles and LIED to his little brother. "Yeah I sure wanted us to work side by side, sucks it didn't happen. :((( But I'll try to nag Howard to change his mind, no promises!" What a dipshit.
This was how the r/FuckChuck subreddit was born.

Chuck wants Jimmy's love but not the risk of Jimmy's problems cause by his flaws. Sometimes you can't have it both. He wants Jimmy by his side but not his problems. Too selfish, only concerned with himself. Jimmy never complained about Chuck's problems and helped him all the time. On the contrary, Chuck only accepts good things from Jimmy.

Chuck is probably the most despicable character in the show
As noble as he might seems, he’s the true form of abusing, envious, manipulative and hypocrite all together
His point of view on human is human never changes. When Chuck said “he might do unacceptable things with causes that sound almost noble” in court, it should be Jimmy who said that about Chuck instead
Anyway, the humiliation was well worth it

Shitty brothers are the fucking worst. It's betrayal and heartbreak on an indescribable level and you never really heal from it. Just an old knife wound that always fucking itches.

If you have siblings who care about you, treat them well, because that's not a gift everyone with siblings gets to experience.

A lot of people say Chuck is right because of where Jimmy ends up, but, I feel like Chuck prevented Jimmy from being anyone but Saul.
He never let Jimmy McGill be Jimmy McGill. He never let him have his lawful if a bit rogue practice, never let him have his break, never gave him the legal option. He was always "Slippin Jimmy" to Chuck. He wouldn't let him be anything else. And he got what he wanted.

Sure, Jimmy may have been a bit of an ambulance chaser, but we see in Breaking Bad he's still putting together class action lawsuits to represent the affected in tragedies (Even if a bit predatory), he'd probably be seen as a champion for the victims he represents, starting with the old folks. But he was never allowed to have it. He started with some cheap tricks for publicity, but, this very case that leads to this fight, was proof Saul was trying to right wrongs and work hard and get justice for those who can't defend themselves. He doesn't need to run scams or tricks to be a successful champion, beloved and successful. This was the moment that Chuck kills Jimmy, and only lets Saul continue.

Ok .. lets say Chuck is right .. Jimmie is not a ( real lawyer ) .. he's slipping Jimmie with law degree ( a chimpanzee with a machine gun ) ..
The question is : why wasn't Chuck straight forward about it from the beginning ? .. why did he have to make himself look like the ( good older brother ) and Howard to look like the ( bad guy ) ? .. why did he ask Howard to pretend that he's the manager who ( wants the retirement home's case but doesnt want Jimmy in the firm ) ..
..
In my humble opinion Chuck is not completely right here ..
He could have been open about it with Jimmie .. discuss the issue ..
But no .. Chuck doesn't want to believe that people change .. doesn't believe his brother deserves a chance to prove himself as a ( real good lawyer ) ..

But because Chuck didnt want Jimmys casual and unorthodox personality beat him at his own game, Jimmy became the worlds best con-man while chuck died in a house fire. I hope this scene stays with assholes who talk down to people like this
