This scene makes a lot of sense once you watch the last chapter when Jimmy recognises the king of person he really is. It is so shocking that Chuck was always right.
ОтветитьPlot nitpick that just occurred to me: Chuck refers to Jimmy getting his law degree through "an online course." If BCS starts around 2002 (which I gather is canon), would law schools have been offering an online path to a J.D. back then?
ОтветитьJimmy was not perfect by any means but Chuck constantly put him down and ruined any potential he had for playing it straight. He was a narcissist who just wanted Jimmy beneath him
ОтветитьHis acting here is masterclass. The slow progression to anger when he reveals he knows was seamless
ОтветитьWhat bad side on chuck is in season one when saul isnt born yet, chuck already planned the sh out of taking down everything on jimmy, over a f in simplified lawyer school... mf is sack redeez nuts. Should have suck on his book alot. Jimmy was a good guy turned upside down by the fact pushed by a little bit from chuck. We all admit it. Chuck was right we know, law is sacred, etc, but in season 1 jimmy did all good things. Turns out its the born of saul. Yes. Chuck is right but wrong target.
ОтветитьChuck perfectly demonstrates that in life there is a difference between being right and doing what’s right. Amazing show.
ОтветитьThe part about the phone...how it must have felt like a fucking blowtorch by Chuck's ear ... perfect.
ОтветитьHe understood and underestimated jimmy
ОтветитьI side completely with Jimmy on this one. I won't even argue whether Chuck was right to make that call or not, it was how he went against his own principles and LIED to his little brother. "Yeah I sure wanted us to work side by side, sucks it didn't happen. :((( But I'll try to nag Howard to change his mind, no promises!" What a dipshit.
This was how the r/FuckChuck subreddit was born.
Brilliant acting by Michael McKean, makes you wonder how these award shows really work.
ОтветитьChuck wants Jimmy's love but not the risk of Jimmy's problems cause by his flaws. Sometimes you can't have it both. He wants Jimmy by his side but not his problems. Too selfish, only concerned with himself. Jimmy never complained about Chuck's problems and helped him all the time. On the contrary, Chuck only accepts good things from Jimmy.
ОтветитьLadies & Gentlemen this is what a Hating ass person is
ОтветитьBCS is thousand times better than Breaking Bad... because it has Dramas in it which can take place in everyday life
ОтветитьThough Chuck was jealous and resentful of Jimmy, in the end he truly was right word for word when he said Jimmy with a law license is “Like a chimp with a machine gun” it did not end well at all😂
Ответитьcause of everything.
If only he had trusted his younger brother's will just once...
Slipping Jimmy with a Law degree
ОтветитьThis scene is so tragic on so many levels.
ОтветитьThats why competition used in the wrong way spells disaster
ОтветитьI think the lesson to be learned from Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad is this: Sometimes, you have to know when enough is enough. Those who want it all often end up burning everything down
ОтветитьChuck created his own greatest fear
ОтветитьChuck was an asshole and a massive narcisist with major issues, but at least he wasn't Saul Goodman
ОтветитьChuck is probably the most despicable character in the show
As noble as he might seems, he’s the true form of abusing, envious, manipulative and hypocrite all together
His point of view on human is human never changes. When Chuck said “he might do unacceptable things with causes that sound almost noble” in court, it should be Jimmy who said that about Chuck instead
Anyway, the humiliation was well worth it
Jimmy would have never been that way if Chuck would have accepted him.
ОтветитьShitty brothers are the fucking worst. It's betrayal and heartbreak on an indescribable level and you never really heal from it. Just an old knife wound that always fucking itches.
If you have siblings who care about you, treat them well, because that's not a gift everyone with siblings gets to experience.
This is all Chuck’s fault! Fight me in the comments if you want lol.
ОтветитьChuck is the reason why saul goodman was created
ОтветитьI really appreciate how the title of this video informs us that Bob Odenkirk is playing the character Truth in this scene. Many people mistakenly believe that Bob is playing as James McGill, and I don't get how so many people can be so mistaken.
ОтветитьBoomer vs Gen X
ОтветитьChuck would be pretty unhappy about the pandemic graduates.
RIP in peace sweet angel of Law
Jimmy and Chuck were the same, jealous liars and hypocrites.
ОтветитьA lot of people say Chuck is right because of where Jimmy ends up, but, I feel like Chuck prevented Jimmy from being anyone but Saul.
He never let Jimmy McGill be Jimmy McGill. He never let him have his lawful if a bit rogue practice, never let him have his break, never gave him the legal option. He was always "Slippin Jimmy" to Chuck. He wouldn't let him be anything else. And he got what he wanted.
Sure, Jimmy may have been a bit of an ambulance chaser, but we see in Breaking Bad he's still putting together class action lawsuits to represent the affected in tragedies (Even if a bit predatory), he'd probably be seen as a champion for the victims he represents, starting with the old folks. But he was never allowed to have it. He started with some cheap tricks for publicity, but, this very case that leads to this fight, was proof Saul was trying to right wrongs and work hard and get justice for those who can't defend themselves. He doesn't need to run scams or tricks to be a successful champion, beloved and successful. This was the moment that Chuck kills Jimmy, and only lets Saul continue.
I'm not an acting student, but this scene comes off as a total masterclass in performance that should be studied for years to come.
Ответить"It was naggin me-it was NAGGIN me"
idk why but this line hits so well for me. I've been in situations where I've had to backtrack through lies and felt this exact same way when I knew something was off.
The feeling of betrayal Jimmy felt at that moment must have been terrible.
ОтветитьJimmy’s work as a PD was upholding the “sacredness” of the law more than anything Chuck did going the corporate route
ОтветитьChuck then: Slippin’ Jimmy is always a con man and can’t be a bad lawyer 😈
Chuck in Belize: Ah shit what have I done 😮
“I worked my ass off to get where I am, and you take these shortcuts and you think suddenly you’re me peer?!”
I love how Chuck completely glosses over how Jimmy took night classes while working a full-time job and took the bar exam three times.
I suppose if he has listened to chuck and listened to the fact he had to change because people get hurt when they abuse the law then saul would of never of got into that mess with lalo
Ответить"Chimp with a machine gun" is one of the best lines I've ever heard in any form of media. It's outstanding.
ОтветитьOk .. lets say Chuck is right .. Jimmie is not a ( real lawyer ) .. he's slipping Jimmie with law degree ( a chimpanzee with a machine gun ) ..
The question is : why wasn't Chuck straight forward about it from the beginning ? .. why did he have to make himself look like the ( good older brother ) and Howard to look like the ( bad guy ) ? .. why did he ask Howard to pretend that he's the manager who ( wants the retirement home's case but doesnt want Jimmy in the firm ) ..
..
In my humble opinion Chuck is not completely right here ..
He could have been open about it with Jimmie .. discuss the issue ..
But no .. Chuck doesn't want to believe that people change .. doesn't believe his brother deserves a chance to prove himself as a ( real good lawyer ) ..
Jimmy wouldn't've fallen back to his old ways if Chuck had supported him when he asked for a law job. He was trying to change, he WAS changing for the better. But when Chuck lambasted him like he did, all bets were off.
ОтветитьJust now realizing the parallels between Chuck sabotaging Jimmy’s job while he was sleeping with Jimmy doctoring the Mesa Verda files while Chuck was sleeping
Ответить"The law is sacred!" Jimmy's last fuck you to Chuck was swindling the prosecution to only give him 7 years. He proved that the law is not infallible.
ОтветитьChuck made Saul Goodman. No assholish treatment by Chuck, no Saul.
ОтветитьChuck you made this happened
ОтветитьThis scene hurts since Jimmy couldve been the best lawyer out there. But because Chuck didnt want Jimmys casual and unorthodox personality beat him at his own game, Jimmy became the worlds best con-man while chuck died in a house fire. I hope this scene stays with assholes who talk down to people like this
ОтветитьWhat’s crazy is that the guy that played chuck as a narcissist, years back played a narcissist con artist in the show Lost and his character was annoying asf, so this acter could really act good as a narcissist or he’s one in real life lmao
ОтветитьChuck was lying he only cared about himself and his massive ego thats why he didn’t want Jimmy at HHM nothing to do with people getting hurt
Ответить
