двигатель воздушного охлаждения, P40 водяного. У zero более тонкое крыло, оказалось и сам он очень лёгкий. Почитал. У zero пушки у P40 пулемёты. Р40 выглядит тяжело из за огромного воздухозаборника. Думаю в реальной жизни горели бы P40. Это видно даже мне, не лётчику. Иначе почему Америка так долго воевала с Японией

durant l'été 41, les allemands ont demandé à un agent double (Tricycle) des renseignements sur la base de Pearl Harbour. Cet agent qui travaillait pour les allemands mais aussi pour les USA a donc fourni des renseignements plus ou moins bidons.
Il est peu vraisemblable que l'Allemagne envisageait d'attaquer Pearl Harbour mais en revanche ces informations intéressaient leur allié le Japon.
Il ressort de cela que les USA savaient dès l'été 41 que Pearl Harbour était une cible potentielle mais ils n'ont pas renforcé la sécurité pour autant. Strange...

I'd rather have one of these than a P-51. One of the last great radial fighters. Plus, because a zero is so light, you can just thrash the stick around. Imagine having one in America and doing a pretend strafing run towards a bunch of cars on the highway. You could clear it of traffic faster than a dozen ambulances.

At the beginning of WWII, the Zero was revolutionary and untouchable. Very skilled pilots flew them. Very light, maneuverable, and with huge range. US developed planes to and tactics to counter them.

At the start of the war the Zero was far superior in combat than anything the USA had and US pilots were killed in droves.

I fell in love with the elegant form of the Zero Fighter.

Well, I have to be honest, when I look at the Mitsubishi Zero, I find this machine just as beautiful as the American P-40 Warhawk or the Boeing B25 Liborator.

Zero, without a doubt, is one of the most beautiful planes of the Second World War. Here I would also take such aircraft as Lavochkin La-5, Republic Thunderbolt and 262 Schwalbe.

Would have been nice to see a German STUKA in that line up.

Even though the p-40 wasn't anywhere close to being the best performer. It is one of the sexiest looking aircraft ever made.
