The Mini Tube Screamer is based on the TS808, not the TS9.

omg get rid of the stupid action figures, its not funny and it adds valuable time trying to get to the facts instead of your fiction. Even worse comedy than "That Pedal Show" and that is hard to do!

If you are going to do a comparison review it would help of you made sure the knobs were in the same position for each pedal when doing a direct knob position comparison. Many times I saw you had the TS9 tone set higher and the dude that just wanted to shred was liking that pedal more because he likes those highs when shredding his runs. And half the video you ignored the TS808. what a waste of time this was.

Very interesting, so the TS9 sounds best out of all three for lead guitar, and the Tube Screamer mini sounds best out of all three for rhythm. Cheers guys, great video comparison and love the Star Wars humor lol!

It's great seeing these old reviews. I'm not sure how much liquid was consumed at lunch, but I'd love to see the new Andertons reviews after a liquid lunch!

I found an old TS9 tube screamer for 70 frog skins at Guitar Center's web site. They let you rummage through all their stores used stuff and order it either delivered to your home or pickup at your chosen nearest. I think the mini does have more bottom warmth than the others. But the TS8 & 9 have more drive. So the old TS9, for me, is a good choice to mate with my old Dean Markley solid state K-50.

A guitar always sounds different when you are the one playing in the moment. Even if you play an exact recording back to yourself it will sound different to you for some reason.

TS9 fits the bill for my board.

No offense but I call BS on these reviews between, essentially the same pedals. The levels on the pots arent exactly the same across each pedal. You compensate by matching each knob as close as you can between the different boxes but the truth is, the pots are all slightly different. One pedal has more gain than another and so on. It has been a thing for decades ever since the first electric guitar. All pots have slight differences. The circuit could be identical and if you put 3 TS9's together in the same room, youd still find variances. I would say, listening to the review, I find such miniscule differences that my wallet would choose the one I buy.

TWO: Once you are an expert on the topic (in this case TubeScreamers) decide what information/observations would be the most helpful to your audience. THREE: Communicate the key points as clearly as possible using examples. Otherwise, no matter how interesting or funny you try to be, you are essentially wasting your own time, and that of your audience. Just sayin’...
