Looks like we won’t be missing anything. We’re gonna get immortality from exponential technology, we got alien contact, and asi. Think about 20 years ago, 2003, think about how big of a difference only 20 years ago is. Even only 10 years ago in 2013 and now look at all we have. We have ai which is growing so fast people don’t even realize or comprehend it. The world will be unrecognizable in 20 years

Aaaaaaaaand we will miss the sun growing into a red giant, exploding and engulfing the earth in excruciating heat causing the inevitable end of the world. So yeah.

The part about a photon escaping the sun and eventually reaching a person's eye reminded me of the probability of the sperm cell that conceived me reaching my mother's egg. Neither are conceivable.

But based on a lot of quantum research, photons that aren't observed, actually don't exist. Beyond the possibility of where they may have landed.

Space stuff as a whole gives me so much existential dread, especially regarding the future…
I was expecting to come out or this vid with another week long state of depression following hearing some not so cool news about what’ll happen in billions of years from now, but I actually came out looking at this feeling kinda hopeful and positive.

(I can probs chalk that up to Micheal not talking about the sun consuming the earth during expansion, or the heat death of the universe…)

it’s so depressing to think about how people will not exist when the galaxies DO collide. our planet is only habitual for so long, eventually the sun will expand to a point where it’s gonna be way to hot for us to survive since we will no longer be in the “habitable” zone. so not only will we not see it in this lifetime, there is no lifetime that will. and maybe in that billion years where human life still exists we may see things we haven’t before, make new advancements in technology, chances are we won’t be able to leave our SOLAR SYSTEM, much less our galaxy. even at light speed it takes like 100 thousand years just to get to the edge of our galaxy, so this is it for us. i don’t doubt that there’s other life somewhere in our universe, but if we can’t even leave our solar system in enough time to not die of old age, why would extra terrestrials be any different? they would have to be an extremely advanced society just to come here, either that or have a life expectancy of over 40 thousand years, and that’s just if they were in our neighboring solar system. i hope we figure out some way to invent teleportation or time travel or immortality or something in that billion years while we still exist though, there would be a lot more hope for us to really figure out what’s out there
