ATV Final Closedown & Central Launch 1st January 1982

Compared to Southern TV's self-indulgent woefest, ATV's exit was very low key. Obviously this was due to it being rebranded rather than replaced completely.

OTT was a late night version of TISWAS it was close to the edge sometimes!

Here in Brum my Mum & Dad let me stay up to see the end of ATV in 1981 aged 13 & got up to see Central launch however it was seamless unlike other franchise changes on the ITV Network ATV owned 51% of Central Independent Television in 1982

I miss ATV

God save the acociaded television

stayed up all night with my gran to watch it go live, same with channel 4 when that first started............ damn that was a long time ago..
