These old game shows bring back memories of these short-lived shows that almost everybody has forgotten. ABC was obviously trying to give them a boost.
Of course, Taxi and Eight is Enough were also on ABC.

There was a Saturday morning version of the Hollywood square called the storybook squares in 1969.

Think ABC did this in prime time in September of 1979.

The rules are applied inconsistently on this show. When the girl said football as a clue for baseball she got dinged. Sometimes they allow clues like that.

Regarding the acceptance of clues that might've otherwise been judged illegal, perhaps the producers were more lenient because everyone was playing for charity.
