Perhaps Mallorn trees are decedent's of Laurelin.

The fact that a new sapling from those ancient trees was found, despite all odds, reminds me of the iconic words of Jurassic Park:

This is the problem with these MYTHS including the CHRISTIAN MYTHS you have these so called evil entities who are BENEATH the ""Supreme " being who do these heinous acts to corrupt and destroy EVERYTHING and this "omnipotent " entity stands by and does NOTHING while the other little lesser powers step in to right the wrongs KNOWING that they're not as powerful as the envious hateful power monger entities ,BUT the SUPREME just NEVER steps in and puts a stop to to the nonsense!!

I am Telperion. Leah blessed the two trees. Will added the White Tree of Gondor, which I thought would make a nice Christmas Tree. My husband is the Balsam Fir.

This is what I love about Tolkien. I truly feel immersed in a world that somewhere in this universe exists but is yet to be discovered. The level of detail and involvement in this world is unparalleled. I'm currently reading the Silmarillion and just read the chapter about the white tree. I just can't get enough of all of this lore.

Why am I tearing up over fictional trees 🥺

Think of the Silmarils as being the only copy of the Two Trees like the manuscript of Beowulf is the only remaining copy of a lost epic. Hence why Tolkien/Feänor would not like to see the Beowulf/Silmaril to be broken apart to extract only for retrieving from it the light/linguistic evidence. Go read The Monsters and the Critics and check back with me during my office hours…

This is the beauty of Tolkeins work, the depth of majesty, mystery, ethereal fantasies and long forgotten realms and places.

The tale of the Ents and Entwives was sad. It's disappointing Quickbeam isn't mentioned travelling to look for them and new trees as his groves were destroyed by Saruman's forces. They say he's young for an Ent, and there's many places the Fellowship went to that may be interesting to him. Not sure why none of the Ents from Fangorn want to visit Lorien and why the Elves of Lorien don't want to visit Fangorn Forest?
