Thoroughly enjoyed your take on the Florida Keys. I have been once I went on a cruise then my friend and I rented a car and had planned to go to Everglades national Park. We got off the cruise it was pouring so we skipped the Everglades. The rain stopped once we got to the . We stayed in a hotel for a few days. I will be returning in the future when I have my van. I do have seasonal allergies and I did not have a problem there before. I always carry allergy medication with me when I travel. I’m glad you called out the rude drivers!!! Thank you.

Lived there 20 years, just like any where else! Not much accidents or murder! Always felt very safe!

I missed what month you visited or recorded this video? Reading the comments the stench came from the seaweed. Our family from Idaho will be there Thanksgiving week. Was it the time of year that you visited that the stench and allergies were the worst or they're an issue all year long?

Never had allergy problem ! Stink is sea weed and it is fowl. No one knows that there are no beaches. Yeah its windy most of the time !

We just went down to Key Largo. We took a trip down from West Palm Beach. Got a hotel room in Key Largo. We just wanted to see the sandy beaches and enjoy the sunsets. The song starts with the best of if not the best, there's no sandy beaches? There is no sandy beaches in the keys. We talked with a park official, that just closed. The keys are built on ancient Coral Rock. There is no sandy beaches. Nobody wants to discuss that. I think this is something that needs to be brought up. On one of the so-called sandy beaches that are advertised. I literally walked out. And looked back at my friend. And said. Be careful. This is sharp! I cannot believe on the deceptiveness of this. That the keys are able to advertise themselves. With sandy beaches. There is not a Sandy Beach over there. And if it is as fan-made. Maybe you have some Island that has sand on it. For the ninety-eight percent of the keys. There's no sandy beaches.
You might as well prepare for a trip to the emergency room. You'll steal the lacerations on your feet from this ancient Coral Rock. It's going to hurt.
You throw some kids into that mixture.
It's not going to be a good day.

Glad to know about the smell... It's one thing if you're expecting it, but I'm glad I won't be surprised. 😅

The smell... the Keys are a string of small islands with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other side. Sargassum is a type of algae/seaweed that is vital to the marine ecology. Unfortunately, like everything else it blooms and dies. In the Keys it is carried in by the currents and ends up on the beaches, mangroves, and rocks especially in June and July. The smell can be brutal but it is one of those awful smells that the people just get used to. It can be overpowering for tourists. They do clean up the beaches nightly during this time, and I have even seen them out there with snow plow type vehicles working to get rid of it. (The good news is that some have come up with a way to recycle and incorporate it into building materials.) This year, 2023, the greatest sargassum die-off ever is out there in the Atlantic, covering an approximately 5,000 square mile area. And now it's washing up on Florida beaches, so before going down to the Keys you might want to check that part out. It's about 110 miles from Key Largo to Key West, so the best way to do the drive is to take it easy, take in the sights, and plan on a couple of hours to get there. My go to app for traffic timing and getting around is definitely Waze.

Please please please adjust volume/audio on videos when you are just talking, we have the TV turned up all the way and it's like you guys are mumbling. If I am cooking or there's noise, then we can't even watch your channel at all.
