Timothy Buttons..
Ответитьone of the most haunting scenes in film..for a different look at the talented Timothy Bottoms try to find a clip from ..:Thats my Bush"
ОтветитьThe scene is all the more powerful since Sam Bottoms just died in real life of a brain tumor. He was 53. This film was his debut and he was a solid character actor for many years.
ОтветитьTimothy Bottoms was awesome in this scene....a real talent.
Ответитьthis scene is one of the saddest things i've seen in a movie
ОтветитьOne of the most underrated films ever. Several scenes, performances, and lines from this piece have remained with me to this day-and the last and only time that I saw it was when it was currently running at the movies.
ОтветитьCan you giveme the title and pulishers name I would like to read thiis book
Ответить@cochranexyz Texasville was BAD , Read " Duane;s depressed.
Ответить@cochranexyz BOOK WAS TERRIBLE. FILM WORSE. " Duane's Depressed" and "When the Light Goes" are really good reads. "
ОтветитьSam the Lion.
Ответитьone of the best movie quotes of all time thank you for posting it
ОтветитьExcellent Movie only surpassed by The French Connection in 1971 Oscars!
ОтветитьA kind of Sisyphus but with a broom, not a rock.
ОтветитьEasily inside of my personal top 5 most powerful, haunting, and memorable scenes in the history of film.
ОтветитьI remember seeing this film for the first time. This scene really got to me.
Ответить@thisisnotzimbabwe yes, i agree texasville is a big letdown after picture show. the few good things about texasville were actually found in the novel. sonny was the heart and soul of lps. it was a big mistake to completely change the character of duane from lps to what he became in Txville. sure people change in 30 years, but for duane to go for an impulsive character to the voice of reason was just too much. it may as well have been two different people.
Ответить@thisisnotzimbabwe paper moon is indeed a far superior film to txville.
Ответитьmagistral retrato de la soledad del dolor y la desolacion, que terrible!
ОтветитьIt would have been a metaphor for futility if no one would have cared, if no one would have hollered on his behalf or bothered to pick him up. This movie portrayed what I grew up calling the good old days. It's a good reminder to those who are trying to take us back, to the good old days. A great movie.
Ответить...."a ... poignant metaphor for the futility of existence .... " is a brilliant summation of this powerful scene , Ransomriggs. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьThis doesn't show the futility of existence-just that LOVE is the only thing that matters.
ОтветитьThis showed that the best movies can be made on the cheap.
ОтветитьMay be the saddest scene of all time.
ОтветитьGreat movie...the book was even better.
ОтветитьTim had to do this scene in real life
he hates this film
My goodness, this is just far too sad to watch.
ОтветитьSam the Lion wouldn't of taken shit off those old pudknockers in the street. He would have beat the hell out of them for disrespecting the remains of Billy.
Ответитьtheres nothing left.... :(
ОтветитьBrilliant, a metaphor of the white south that blames young victims for the crimes of elders
ОтветитьGreat Movie So many Memorable Scenes!😊🐃🎬🎥
Ответитьwhen he came out that pool hall it is now a restaurant. best hamburger I have ever had in my life,
ОтветитьFirst and last scene with the Bottoms brothers.
ОтветитьThere are so many scenes that make this a magnificent movie, but this scene is probably the best, yet hardest to watch. Billy's death was the metaphor for the death of the town.
ОтветитьPeter Bogdanovich passed today....Rest In Peace
ОтветитьThe way those men just stood there and talked…. That scene, broke my heart.
ОтветитьPoor kid
Billy didn't have enought sense to stay out of the road, and you didn't have enought compassion or respect to pick him up off the street and show a little sympathy
This is a scene that ALL students of film, along with all students of psychology should watch about once a year.
Ответитьthat's timothy bottoms real-life brother, what a moving scene
ОтветитьWhat really makes this scene is in all callous remarks by the truckers no caring represents the mundanity of life in the town and showing Sonny’s breaking point
Ответитьits one of those rare times that the movie is better than the book and in this case 'much better'.
ОтветитьI heard director Peter Bogdanovich cried after shooting this scene.
