Spitting BIG facts. Any new flathead fisherman would do well to watch this video a couple times.
Several of my biggest have come on cut bait. I spend as much time trying to find a couple big suckers as I do flathead fishing sometimes.
A fist sized sucker head is without a doubt, my number 1, as close as you are gonna get to guarantee, only problem with them is that as soon as they hit the bottom, any flathead within smelling distance is jumping in trying to eat it, half the time there is no chance lol. But the other half of the time, HOLD ON.
I'm a cut Chub man. Slimey little fellers.
ОтветитьChannel and Blue cats like it too, Flats love live bait. Mainly large ones.
ОтветитьWV MY OLDEST BOY CAUGHT 2 DECENT FLATHEAD ON CHICKEN LIVER...MOSTLY BLUE OR CHANNEL CAT BUT THEY HIT CHICKEN LIVER IN KANAWHA RIVER 2OUT OF 10 TIMES LOL
ОтветитьThanks for the tips. Stop by the kinzua River sometime.
ОтветитьI have yet to catch a flatty of size on cut bait in 15 years. Plenty of monster blues but no flats. Ive wrecked more cast nets than caught flattys i dont know why they are so hard to find on texas waters
ОтветитьLooks like a madkatz rod?
ОтветитьThank you for the tips very useful information
ОтветитьI'm just curious have You ever tried shrimp soaked in chicken liver blood? If so what are Your thoughts on it?
Ответить@RiverCertified here in Pennsylvania I have the best luck on fresh cut bluegill for channel cat and flatheads
ОтветитьHave you ever used shrimp
ОтветитьWhat type rod and reels are you using.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI’ve caught 90% of my flathead on cut bluegill. I’ve never caught a flathead on live bait, and I’ve probably caught 20-30 flathead
ОтветитьYa the flatties are picky up in the Delaware too and like live but awesome tips 👍
ОтветитьBest flathead cut bait is a 12" sheepshead. Cut the tail fin off, add a 10/0 circle hook, and cut the head off. A few extra slits in it help. Fresh cut bait works far better than tainted like for channels.
ОтветитьWhere are u from
ОтветитьWhat type of reels are you using?
ОтветитьBrim and crappie is perfect cut bait my father caught a 40lb catfish years ago at Washburn lake
ОтветитьGot to love a Jerk Off that will fish right in front of a Bank Fisherman.
ОтветитьWhy he whine so much.
ОтветитьCan you please tell me what reels your using? I fish ohio alot for cats. The river here is hard fishing. Lots of snags and lots of current. Bank fishers usually need 8 oz sinkers to stay planted. What would you recommend as far as line and rigging? And the reels your using in this video with line counter is what I'm going to try for this setup. My garcia baitcasters are fine but I'm always up to try something different.
ОтветитьThe self control it must have taken to hold back from throwing on those busting white bass is very impressive!! I do not have that type of self control. Thanks for the tips.
ОтветитьNice video enjoy
ОтветитьFlapper bait half filleted whole bluegill fillet from tail to head but don’t cut the fillet off
ОтветитьYou want to go flathead fishing sometime?
Ответитьcaught a turtle the other night, better than not catching anything tho
ОтветитьNever fished the nuse where should I put in with a pontoon and where is a good place to start
ОтветитьWhat fishing poles are those
ОтветитьStocked trout works amazing in Pennsylvania as cut bait. We cant use carp here in pa but are allowed using any legal size game fish cut small mouth works great for channles
ОтветитьHell yeah thanks for the tips broskie
ОтветитьJust wondering were you there first or the bank fishers.
ОтветитьCan u tell me what combo ur using looks nice
ОтветитьI put my brother on a 49lbs flathead. Fresh cut bluegill head dumped in a small side channel at the head of a hole. I put that chunk there hoping for the biggest channel cat ever but I guess I will settle for the 49 lb donkey.
ОтветитьI’ve been using big gold fish and it’s been working well.. you think it’s better to use those or cut perch?
ОтветитьFrom iowa been fishing on the cedar river
ОтветитьWhy do you have a fence post in your boat?
ОтветитьThis is some wisdom man! Thanks for sharing, really appreciate it. I have yet to purchase a cast net, so my bait is generally limited to sunfish, bluegills and creek chubs. The place I catch bait is full of suckers, so do you have any recommendations for getting one of those on a line? Keep these excellent videos coming man!
ОтветитьWhat to you use the fence post for?
ОтветитьI just recently started watching your videos, and I love them. I’m new into catfishing and watching your videos has been very educational, though I fish for channel cats in my area, I’m trying to expand my knowledge to all species.
Ответитьdo you have a video of the rigs that you use for the different types of water you fish in in. i have watched several of your videos and i noticed you use a multitude of different setups. love your vids
ОтветитьDid you really just park I front of bank fisherman?
ОтветитьFlathead love cut stocked trout
ОтветитьSaving to get my 120 pdl old Town hit the lakes for cats I fish the bank alot snakes are big issues but don't stop me
ОтветитьI wish I caught enough fish to keep the pliers on my belt. Also I feel you on the cast net, on number 3 in the last 2 months
ОтветитьBut if you're specifically targeting big flat head and could care less about smaller Cats wouldn't a full pan fish or bullhead increase your chance of catching a hoss??
ОтветитьI literally had no interest in flathead fishing until I watched you catch a few. I hear the James River in Richmond is a great flathead spot and I live close, so time to lay out a buffet
ОтветитьWhy don't you let the flat head run for at least 10 seconds
ОтветитьI can't believe you gave away that bluegill secret. Im a paylaker and I would never let anyone know that secret. 😒
