This movie was fully someone writing out ideas for a remake, and instead of writing a script they just took those bullet point notes and winged it.
Bo's actress didn't bother me, I think she has potential but with a lack of direction she just defaults to enforcing the same emotions. It's a lack of direction on everything, the actual plot, what should be scary, why the monster is even doing things. If there was less ham-fisted foreshadowing, keeping the teenage guy alive longer so Bo has someone to bounce off of, and better pacing and sensical events, you could have a cheesy fun slasher-thriller film, but instead we get this mess. Still better than Issac returns...

The fact that you referred to that little girl as J Leno for the entire review is fucking hilarious. True commitment at its finest.

Also, I love how Bo and her brother do a friendly head nod to each other at the end, as if he didn’t just murder their mother.

I forget the term for it, but the government will pay farmers to not grow a specific crop if there is too much on the market. Corn was actually the first crop they did this with, since there was so much on the market, the value of corn was basically nothing.
