How to save as an SVG file from Adobe Illustrator

Ok so when saving as SVG it turns it into a SVG but i cant open it in SIlhouette Studio and it shows on desktop as a Microsoft edge file.. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have a question. I did the steps you talked about for something in my ai. It saved and when I try to import it into another program (glowforge) it tells me there's a problem with my file and it kicks me out? Do you have any suggestions for that?

I think you'd know ahead of time if your client wanted it saved as an "ESP" file. They wouldn't even need to tell you.

Did the aeroplane take off?
