Aw shucks guys! Thanks for the shout out! This video is great by the way. These exercises take me back to my theme park caricature days. New staff had to do a lot of these drills in training. Brent knows what I'm talking about (we both did caricatures before animation)
ОтветитьThank you I am a beginner so this really helps
Ответитьi dont use a pen
Ответитьcrtl + alt + z lol, yup. Great advice. I'd also like to add ctrl + s like every 5 minutes. Also mouse smoothing is a godsend. If I need to make a real long organic line I always turn that up to about 45%. But whatever you do, don't have this always up this high. Specially when you're doing those fine detail lines with varying weights.
ОтветитьMe who uses his finger and a cracked ibis paint version 🫠
ОтветитьSo what I’m getting from this is that every 20 seconds of using a Wacom no screen tablet I’m losing 6 seconds, which is 3 hours a week, 12 hours a month and 142 hours a year, which is 20 work days a year.
So using a Wacom tablet without a screen (with the average salary for an animator in the us and a 7 hour work day, which is $44.20 an hour) you lose a total of $309.40 a year… for 70 years of work is $21658 a life time of work… which is enough to cover university debt and the tablet itself…
So you better buy that tablet and you better enjoy it!
overshoot the lines
Ответитьcreative cloud plan was $10/mo back then? Now its $55. Damn.
ОтветитьThank you guys and thank you for the recommendations
ОтветитьWhat would you recommend for someone whose drawing tablet doesn’t have pressure sensitivity?
ОтветитьI'm currently working on an indie game and I am trying to improve the lines on my art and coloring. Thanks for the tips here. I'm using GIMP as my free open source tool for my artwork. I currently don't have a digital tablet so I use a mouse. Thanks for these tips really helpful. I'm still researching how to implement these on GIMP

ОтветитьI literally can't control pen pressure
ОтветитьAll those comments you put in this video…
It’s just me with thousands of other accounts.
Y’all are godly
ОтветитьThe worst feeling in the world is when you get that perfect line but you on instinct press the undo button
Ответить"A skilled artist can make any type of art on any type of reasonably sized tablet."
Me working on my 3 by 2 inch working space: ╯°□°╯ ┻━┻
Its common to avoid any kind of tapering for the cleanest results, but I really want that Disney look, and they use a lot of different line weights. I love the lines in Aladdin for example. I wish it were easier to reproduce that kind of thing digitally.
Ответитьthank you for this video. I've been doing digital art for 3 years, and since i started, there wasn't any improvment at all. Every time i asked for tips they said " practice makes perfect". After watching thise video, i had SO MUCH improvment, its scary.
ОтветитьIf you don't wanna stay here for 11 minutes for absolutely " NOTHING " here is the answer to how to make perfect line.
Do not ever draw like you write -- do not ever rest any of your arm part on the table, tablet or else. Draw from your shoulder with ever other body part hovering above but never touching the table or tablets or else.
30-60mins everyday = 2/4months results ( result meaning = becoming second nature. Done without thinking about it ).
You're welcome.
포토샵으로 그리는것이 너무 쉬워 보여요... 저도 연습 많이 해야 할듯 하네요 영상 감사합니다.
ОтветитьA good way to overcome the slipperiness of graphics tablets is to tape a piece of photocopy card over the surface of the tablet. It won't affect the sensitivity of the tablet but it will make it much easier to draw.
ОтветитьPlz name of character thumbnail
ОтветитьYou guys are just amazing
ОтветитьYOU look timid and amateur!! [flips over the table.... the flips it over again to make sure it looks smooth]
ОтветитьThe entertaining creativity on this channel while still being very informing is top tier
Ответитьhow would i be able to do the zebra drill on krita?
ОтветитьI have Wacom Intuos M and I don't see any reason to upgrade it. It is just perfect for me. Took a while to get used to it
ОтветитьLove this.
ОтветитьSurprised that you never considered doing a Bionicle Generation 2 style artwork, since there's a lot going on in the concept art and how the style changes slightly due to the art programs being used. For example, Onua is more detailed in Photoshop Illustrator while the detail is simplified in programs in ToonBoom. This is exactly where I learned that overshooting isn't a bad thing, either.
ОтветитьI think the one thing you guys are really missing here is with this particular art style, vector graphics will probably take you much further than you think. You honestly might not even need illustrator, inkscape has some tools for this sort of thing that are arguably stronger.
ОтветитьCan u do one about krita?? 😁❤️
ОтветитьWhere do i send the art for yall redraw it? (Edit: i found out how)
ОтветитьMouse
ОтветитьFinally I know what I was doing wrong the whole time I just assumed people were using the pen tool for everything
Ответитьhow do i still apply the ctrl alt z technique over to either phone or tablet (:)
ОтветитьYou guys have no idea how much you helped me ♥️🤘🏻 love the content. Keep up the great attitude 🔮
Ответить“First set your brush to these presets.”
Me, a GIMP user: FUUUU-
Stupidity.. just use arcs
ОтветитьThis is sad... When I was in 10th grade one of my first lessons in art class was contour drawing. I thought it was silly as I didn't understand the merits of it.
Watching this now makes me feel like an idiot because now roughly 18 years later do I now get the importance of contour drawing.
Remember that it’s okay to spam CTRL+Z when making the perfect line, curve, or circles
Ответитьi think it is not about practice more but learning the mechanics/ fundamentals / basics very well. After that you have to practice more.
ОтветитьLol so I thought things on photoshop were drawn by hand growing up, so I became really good at clean-lining with thin ink pens 😅. I finally get a tablet and the lines look like a 2 year old lined them 🤣. Adjusting to smoothness of digi-art is hard but this helped a lot!
