The problem with chinese companies like tencent is that they capitalized on the chinese market. However as they grow the government begins to fear their power and influence. Chinese companies like tencent understand that foreign markets are more favorable than the chinese market, however those markets kinda label them aa chinese spies. So they get into this situation where no government body likes them. They more so tolerate them.

Tencent is now a "proxy" stated owned enterprise, CCP wont allow such a powerful private company that control of big part of media. Pretty much like Alibaba, it will get breakdown like current baba and Ant financial will be broken into 6 units, Jack ma has no choice. On top of that, the big picture is US-China tension makes any chinese wants to diversify outside a matured chinese market almost impossible. The beginning of the ending for big private companies in china already started.
