I liked the sound much more when going direct.

Do you just plug this directly into the front of the amp? No need to put the reverb/delay portion in the send/return of the tube amp head?

The thing sounds way better going direct.. sounds like a toy going through an amp... Tech 21 needs to offer a version that's voiced better and meant to use with just an amp !

Tech 21 has been very impressive for a while. I have the PL 1 Flyrig, and it sounds incredible. I’ll probably get this one soon!! :)

Hi, I recently purchased the Tech 21 Fly Rig 5 v2 , I've noticed that when I set a delay tempo and then press the dotted 8th it does fine but then when I put the dotted 8th button off it does not play the normal delay.. It just continues with the dotted modified delay even with it off. Is this normal or a flaw ?

Wow, sounds unacceptable through that amp but direct it's bearable, still I prefer my 40$ Joyo "American Sound" preamp, the Fly Rig packs everything I'd need in a tiny space, but to me it really needs a big speaker simulation upgrade.
Anyway, they'll improve it eventually, until then I'll keep looking.

Can this be used with headphones? It seems not (but the Ritchie Kotzen and Paul Landers units can?).

I had the original and upgraded to this. The loop, tuner, XLR, better delay and reverb, plus now running on 9V power. The heart of a great pedalboard.

This pedal is great. I have some pretty high end pedals (kingsley, Hermidia, Strymon, etc) but when it comes to gigging, I grab this. I stick an MXR micro chorus in the loop for chorus/rotary, and boom. A full rig. (The delay on this CAN be used as a chorus... ). Fits in a gig bag. I usually use it through a small tube amp. Brilliant.

Though it doesn't sound quite heavy enough for super heavy metal stuff.
They need to add a distortion in there too.

Tech21 really listened to customers and put everything what was needed. I don't know what else you could ask for, it's a great device

Don't know why Tech21 doesn't get the love. My Hot Rod Plexi pedal is the shit wish I would have found it before I wasted a bunch of money on other pedals that just sit now & collect dust.

Which product do you like better tech 21 flyrig or synergy modules ?

Don has the Sansamp section of this unit changed from the V1?

Is the amp output headphone capable?

Separate reverb footswitch.....Tech 21 is listening to their audience!!

Does it have fox loop ? Can you use your own overdrive pedal in front of it?

Too much camera time on Don's hands and not enough on the pedal and just what effects were on and the knob settings. After all, It's supposed to be a pedal demo and not a demo of Don's dexterity.

So … is the Plexi circuit at the front end an amp sim like the Blonde circuit? Or is it something different?
