But $2500 now gives you an extra +150whp/tq. And you don't have to open it till 600. So that's something.

Ответитьwell. Now that I bought a 2023 WRX a week ago after owning a 2016, I can confirm that the stock 2023 is much faster. As far as this video, doing absolutely no modifications to either, but adding an access port and getting the most out of their stock configurations, the WRX would cook the BRZ. There is a lot of meat left on the bone in a stock configuration. The BRZ will always be a superior platform for track, but the WRX stock configuration does offer enough unlockable power to change these results I believe. Spend an extra 500 and get an intake for both and the difference will get larger. You are going to have to spend 8k on a BRZ to make it out compete a base WRX with 1k in mods. add any kind of imperfect road conditions and the WRX will continue to gap the BRZ. With an intake and tune you can hit 320awhp and 350awtq.

Seems like the right outcome. WRX is for straight line performance and off-road, while the brz is a road course vehicle.

ОтветитьMakes sense to me. 600lbs less, RWD and lower to the ground. The BRZ is designed for this. The difference is I want 4 doors, so the WRX still wins in my book!

ОтветитьI'm pretty sure there was something wrong with that wrx or it was a very tired test car.. there's no way a brz would be able to pull from a wrx in a straight line, especially with the tq difference..

ОтветитьThis is precisely why Subaru’s fear won’t give the brz a turbo trim. It would obliterate wrx sales and make the platform obsolete.
ОтветитьIn my opinion, Subaru could’ve done much better with the WRX.. I was expecting at least the WR Rex to get off the line faster due to the fact it’s all wheel drive, but obviously, that’s not the case here it’s way too heavy and under powered.
They did a great job with the brz it’s a well put together little sports car
Well I’m gonna have to ask for a real driver. Someone who is not worried about hurting the cars feelings.
