Ответитьi doubled the recipe and it seems like i had too much oil sitting on top, even after I slow cooked it. But the flavor is great, im just skimming the oil off the top before serving.

ОтветитьI grew up on gumbo my mother made and it was soul satisfyingly delicious. She did not put garlic or bell peppers in hers but i notice pretty much every recipe i see does include those. My mother assured me hers is the authentic recipe and as she is no longer with us i cant ask her anything about it. I am very curious now what it would taste like with those items! I unfortunately never learned how to make gumbo but i may try this one on my own to see the result. Looks fabulous!

ОтветитьI made gumbo for the first time ever using your instructions. I also added, shrimp, crab meat and crawfish to the chicken and sausage. It was so good that people told me I should sell it 😆😆But on a serious note, you truly take the mystery out of cooking

Ответить1st don't you dare shorten these videos! 2nd I have to make my rue in a cast iron skillet. That's how I learned it back in LA. I roast my chicken in oven on cookie sheet with Creole kick on 425 for 20 mins. I put Bay leaf in with veggies. If I'm feeling it ill throw crab in sometimes.
