Vulkan vs OpenGL in DOOM feat. RX480

this only improves performance on AMD cards ? or Nvidia

I notice that there is also a slight lag. In addition, the video card load seems to be as low as 50%. Honestly, I have not looked at the game, especially when using this video card with a Vulkan is pointless. DOOM can no longer be played in this mode, every time I drop it, it collapses not only to me. Since I played this game in this mode, it seems as if the video card fails and the picture gets worse and not only in the game.

I put together an R9 Fury with a FX6300 and I saw my minimums increase 40-50fps with my average increasing about 30-50+ fps

Why people always think taht Vulkan will be used only by AMD ?
It's fucking stupid !!!
Vulkan development is base on Mantle BUT the purpose of Vulkan is to offer Mantle for both, AMD AND Nvidia users !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is why AMD stopped Mantle development to help Vulkan's developers to remove all specific code lines about AMD GPUs from Mantle in order to make Vulkan compatible with Nvidia GPUs.
Before AMD helps, Vulkan's developers were facing a lot of issues to remove them by themselves.
Just go on Nvidia Website, Vulkan drivers are available for their GPU too !
Vulkan has been created to get rid of OPENGL and proprietary APIs like DirectX and Mantle !
The idea is to offer the full popential from GPUs on linux, Mac and Windows without the need for developers to use DirectX or OpenGL....

What has better graphics between the two?? Because oddly I noticed the opengl version looks slightly crisper than the vulcan one..could be wrong though..

My MSI GTX 980ti Gaming X runs Doom at 110 FPS + at 1440p everything maxed out (including nightmare where available) while utilizing the Vulcan APIs. It's a full 25-30 FPS bump from before. Sometimes it will run at a consistent 120 FPS-143 FPS even.

You are right, I'm mixed up with r9 Fury, and rx 480 isnt hbm.

DX also always had better performance than opengl...

So i have to play with terribly low even pixelated graphic settings. Even better, now game even more close to doom 1994.

I enabled Vulkan on Doom for my Nvidia GTX 650 and saw no performance gains. It actually made my game unstable and crashes more often. I also noticed my frame rate varies under Vulkan. I start to get low rates but if I restart the system a few times the frame rates go back up. It's kinda weird.

I just started using crimson driver, fps in games drops a lot.
I tried with RX 480 8GB and R9 380x 4GB. Same results.

For some reason I can't use older drivers anymore.
