The Empty Bottle String Band launches a Kickstarter

We are the Empty Bottle String Band based out of Johnson City, TN. We play toe-tapping old time string band music and we're getting ready to release a new cd. The tracks have been recorded, paid for, and are currently in the mixing process. We have released a few albums in the past, but these were your basic DIY project which required scissors, blank labels, and cd inserts which were fresh from an old school bubble jet printer. It was the kind of cd that when you took it out of your car cd player, your radio volume was startlingly loud because we weren't able to get all the levels right on our own.

We would love to provide our fans and listeners a great-quality cd that has been skillfully engineered and mixed, with professional design and printing. We want to create an album that we can be proud to offer; a representation of us at our very best. The money we raise will be used for cd duplication; cd artwork, design, and packaging; and promotional materials such as stickers and posters. We have already lined up the amazing Cricket Press studio to design our album art. They are a super-talented duo of artists and illustrators from Lexington, KY who have designed albums and posters for bands like The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, My Morning Jacket, Ben Sollee, and Crooked Still. We also want to offer digital downloads of the album for those who are unable to buy our cd's from us directly at live shows.

Our new cd will feature thirteen tracks, including seven fiddle tunes and six traditional songs and ballads, with guest performances by our friends Raymond McLain from the renowned McLain Family Band, and Hasee Ciaccio from The Barefoot Movement.
