Update 1.89 Notes (May 9, 2024) - Fallout 76

Yeah, i know about the crashes on the PS; it definitely gets risky after the 2 hours mark.

My brother and I are both on ps5 and he always glitches or crashes. He fast travels - crash. He loads an expedition - Crash. He enters any power armor or power armor station - he gets stuck.

Wow, that’s impressive to not get a blue screen for two hours. I play on a PS4 Pro and my buddy plays on a five and we’re lucky to get a half an hour into the game without a blue screen, if we’re doing stuff. If we’re lollygagging around our bases, then you’re really not gonna encounter anything but as soon as we try doing events or doing anything outside of our base is when we never know when that dreaded blue screen is gonna pop up. I actually went back to playing fallout 4 because I got fed up with the blue screen every other 30 minutes. I truly hope they can get that blue screen issue under control and get rid of this invaders from beyond event because it drops plans that I put in my store and I can’t even pay people to take them. I apologize if I’m coming off strong, but I’ve got a lot of money invested in this game and it’s very disheartening to not get a proper return on your investment.

When i first started 'reporting issue' my messages were 'tame' and respectful. With it crashing before firing a shot at events so often, my messages have become very ..
'descriptive' shall we say, filled with unpleasant adjectives 😉🤭🤫

anyone know if the neighborhood square shelter is in rotation or something? i dont see it in the atom shop and I assume thats why, but just wanted to check.

I think fixed is a bit of an overstatement. Since this update came out. I have heard nothing but issues from the game crashing. To glitches and bugs like not being able to use a rad. Having to relog every 10min. On top of that trying to complete the tadpole missions with no friends the game is far from fixed in my opinion. Not to mention my gun saying it has ammo but won't shoot.

Union is still broke.

the only real glitch me and my friends keep experiencing is the game bugging out when going into power armor

I have been playing 76 for a month now on xbox and crash regularly. I am not sure if it's because there's too much going on my screen or maybe the weapon im using ? (Railway). Maybe it shoots too fast causing me to crash ? I also tend to build a habit of dashboarding to the screen of my xbox and clicking back into the game. I am not sure what's causing these crashes and it's fairly annoying coming from a brand new user this is not a good way to keep them coming back to the game. Could possibly an event thing maybe idk. Considering it's been 6 years or whatever since the game is been out and there's still things like this make me concern for the future

My cold shoulder does this. It’s normal, then it’s has no more frost and has black smoke instead of a frosty mist lol 😂

I just started playing two weeks ago and have probably crashed 3 times I crashed 3-4 times today alone 😂

Beth is a bunch of incompetent inepts. Since how long/ how many fixes n patches the Union PA is not working properly?

Not a huge deal!!? I always crash at the worse time l, I crashed when I was doing a Earl right before he died it crashed n I got nothing out of it just a big waste of ammo

I'm surprised that you say that "it's not a big problem" that the game crashes every 1 or 2 hours, sometimes less. Do you really like playing and knowing that at any moment the game will expel you? I don't know, it's very strange, I like what I'm playing to work well, but I'm still the strange one

luckily i had already crafted the union power armor it was only til i tried putting the jetpack on that i realised that it was treating me as though i hadn't purchased it, i contacted bethesda 2 days ago and asked them about this issue and they told me they aim to fix the issue in a future patch.. so no rush!!!

I've had the game on PC for 2 weeks and every time I start the game it crashes, then I start it again and it works.

Occasionally, like once every hour in-game, i can't use mouse buttons and therefore not perform any attack. There was no effect doing this on me showing in the pip-boy, just waiting 1 minute or rejoining the server fixes it. I do not encounter mouse problems with my PC in any other situations.

Another thing that happened was that my gunfire animation was moved to go from above my character meaning I had to aim at enemy feet to hit their head, at least I had the gunfire tracers to help me😂

Died one time from running, clipping tiny stones or branches.

A bunch of quests usually have NPCs locking up in conversation so I have to rejoin/reload the area or rejoin server and sometimes even reboot the game.

I've seen a lot of hate on the game, me myselt have some understanding of computer engineering and I do understand the challenges of going into multiplayer. There will always be some tradeoffs, therefore I believe it's unfair to compare the game with F4 or F3. Some features/mechanisms might not be suitable for multiplayer for technical reasons or they could enforce unplayable loads between server and players. Take the game for what it is and gives ideas on what the devs should focus at!:)

Don't get me wrong, I love fallout and love the concept of an online RPG but this was buggy, even for Bethesda standard.

The only weapon issue that I've noticed is that a lot of times when I'm ADS with the cremator, even after letting go of LT, it'll remain ADS until I press/release LT again, which is super annoying considering you walk slower when ADS. As for the S.C.O.R.E. bar constantly moving up, I've noticed that as soon as I accomplished another daily/weekly, it stopped. Although, it only happened once for me, so maybe it was just a fluke that it stopped.

Btw I noticed it's double scrip rn

If you were using a flamer or heavy incinerator the flame and shots were coming way from the left. It was rather comical. I actually thought someone was behind me

The do do do do was so anoying bro and honestly im still hetting kicked nearly every 20 mins some times it kicks every 5 and i play fallout 4 for abit

The next thing I hope someone idk if it’s PlayStation or who but I have to delete 120 gb of space everytime I have to download a new update for fallout and the update turns out to be 700 mb 😑 don’t make sense

Every single day when I go to event with my friend I get game crash and by the time I get back to event, it’s oveeeer

The only piece (plan, too) I am missing from Union is the helmet, and I can't seem to get the set bonus without it. Wish they would hurry up and fix it.

On Xbox Series X - Still kicks me out to Main menu ever couple of hours (I've noticed it happening more when the Atomic Shop changes over at 1630 ish )Still can't display Scorch beast & Queen masks in a display cabinet, they're partially invisible. Every now and then my character takes damage and says 'ouch' for no reason!? (but I love the 'stepping on a Lego brick' theory) ;)

My Flamer fire was coming from off screen from the left or right instead of not out of the my weapon. Very disorienting.

i am on pc and me and my friends crash ALL the time it's the invaders event mostly i noticed if i do damage to the robot boss enemies to quick i guarantee crash

Nope, the bug on Repeatable Daily Score Challenges on Microsoft Store still there after this update. Terrible.

Yes the scoreboard bug still going on and same with the union pa still bug out… I have all the plan pieces and still not allowed me to crafting it…. And I been getting the bug of my weapons don’t want to reload… similar to the gussshotgun bug from before… and the crashing is been annoying…. 🤬🤬

Anyone else suffering from ridiculous crash rates recently? Like every 5 minutes. Mission tax evasion crashing upon casino entry. Then every 5 minutes? 2 system crashes and loads later you can finish it 👎. This game has become unplayable. Why can't the development team fix an issue without F ing up the rest of the game? Are they THAT incompetent? Do they need assistance wiping their own a$$es after they go potty because I assume given the examples in game this is a true statement. Bethesda poo butts.

3 out of 5 Expeditions crashed today. It gets old 😞

Did they fix the bug where if I try to enter the power armor chassis it won't let me, bc once you press the button to try to enter it, everything freezes but you can only look around in a fixed position behind the armor and i cannot enter the PA station, when i try to click the craft or modify/repair button toggle it will flash the interact toggle once and then graying out and everything else becomes non-interactible except to trade via npc or machine. I really wish bethesda would notice how big an issue that is bc its been happening at least to me for 2 months now and ive seen alot of other patches/updates since then. I've received help from discord but it didn't last long for me fully for some reason. Power armor is a huge thing in the fallout franchise, I'm disappointed that i can't use it at all. Much help and consideration is appreciated thank you

That patch gave me horrible fps drops on pc they always do this a lot they’ve done it to the elderly scrolls online a bunch of time they’ll fix it eventually also major lag and crashes ever since that patch before that it was fine

I'd love to just be able to re-bind vats crit on pc. Just sayin... for such an important keybind that one feels like it should be up there.
