I keep getting little annoying aches and pains that stop me from running. I have been crazy consistent over the last year. But these last few weeks of injuries is driving me mad
ОтветитьIm aiming for sub 19. Im consistently sub 20s. So difficult to get faster
ОтветитьI love reading all the comments on their PB, while me just 2 weeks started running - without any background or whatsoever. A 33 year old who started drinking and smoking since High school now decided to make a change. The past 2 weeks been the hardest, my whole body is sore and I am out of breath. I am on my week 3 - my 5K PB is at 35 minutes. I know that is like too fckn sloow! I will have my first ever 10k on 17th December. I hope I will be able to finish it. Thanks for the tips Nick.
ОтветитьI run 800 meter in 2.55 second only how it is
ОтветитьI can’t negative split my 5k. I also go out too fast and hold on. Whenever I control my pace I just go slower at the end. I have tried playing with the first two kms but going out too fast is what works for me.
ОтветитьThe 80/20 ratio (or the intensity of the 80%) just doesn't work for me. It. Just. Does. Not.
The Z2 running (for me) is excellent for increasing mileage, but at the same time my body is just "decaying" slowly with so much running at that intensity.
I may just fall off to far to one side of the (physical) normal distribution curve, dunno.
I had the somewhat same experience back in the 90ies when I was a swimmer: My body has to work relatively hard to respond optimally from training. It could be the same today, which would perfectly explain why (too much) Z2 running just doesn't do it for me.
I’m a distance runner and am going for long haul stuff. However there is some really great advice here that works for me too. Thanks.
ОтветитьI am aiming to break sub 17mins 5km next year at 35yrs of age Thanks for the tip Nick ❤
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьWhat does/ should your heart rate chart look like for a hard 5k effort like parkrun?
ОтветитьI’m 16 and can run a 5km in 18 minutes. Does anyone have any tips to improve my time?
ОтветитьJust target 28 min in 5k
ОтветитьIf you really helping people then do a run with if not then your a selfish runner
ОтветитьWatching this right after my first 5 km race since 6 months. It was more a mental race to prove that I still can do a 5k - been slacking with trainig during the summer during for moving to my own apartment and it took months to get the new habits in place. Since October I'm training more regular. Perfect then to have a startup race after a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the video. Will use the tips to run faster on my next race in January. Going to try my first 10k next March 🏃♀️
My 5k target is 18 min. I know I can do it, but I lack consistency to pull it off. I'm working on my discipline. Thank you though.
ОтветитьWhat size of your shoes can I have one pls..
ОтветитьBest information!
ОтветитьThanks to all your tips sirshout out from Philippines
ОтветитьThe tip of keeping your running gear out and using performance app is so real. Ive been running for seven years now and those are actually the ones who helped me the most to build consistency
ОтветитьDoing a 7k in a month..pacing during the race would be similar to that of a 5k?
ОтветитьNice video
Very informative
How do people talk while running loll
ОтветитьWould like to disagree on the running with others. People can be flakey. Which would then turn into an excuse to not do your run. Sometimes it is just better to run alone. Don’t get me wrong I would love to have a group of like minded individuals to run with regularly. Just saying it can also become a reason to hold you back. Great tips otherwise!
ОтветитьLike I wanna tell you that a 25min 5k is also fast
ОтветитьI have 27 minutes 5K 80 kg, hieght 5"4 short stride, May personal best is 25 : 24 10 years ago, idont know if i will catch up again, I already 32 years now.
ОтветитьWhat running shoes do you use
ОтветитьJust incredible. I run 5 km for 30 minutes and thought that it was good results...
So, there is still a big room to improve ;)
Can you give me one of your unused shoes?
ОтветитьCan you please give me a weeekly plan for 2 months as I have to do 5k in 17 min and it is very necessary so make a video as much as early
ОтветитьIm REALLY new to running but...I hope this helps😅
ОтветитьPlease hindi me banao mere bhai
ОтветитьHi Nick...Please google Nick Bester and you will find my training partner for many years...the guy was an absolute beast from 5km to 100km...those were the days before all this high tech bs.We eat sleep and live running...and that did it for us....
ОтветитьThanks Nick. This is a great help. I'm newly back into running. The aim is to break the 20 minute barrier, currently I'm at 24m50
ОтветитьGreat tips, I think I have heard most of it before, but this puts everything together in one place, great advice for beginners ! At 54 I recently did a 3k at 4.30 pace, now looking to do one interval training a week into autumn, and try to better the 4.30 pace or stretch it out to last over a 5k. Mostly I'm a cyclist these days, but some running is great as winter approaches 🙂
ОтветитьIs jy ‘n Afrikaaner?
ОтветитьGreat Video Nick. Thanks for all the tips. I'll get the schedule down and try to follow it, and do 20% seriously hard stuff with 80% very easy from now on. I'm 65yrs and got my 5k PB 10 years ago of 21.35 - had about 6 yrs on and off with IT band issues but slowly back into it now hitting 25.36 timings. I must I think include some strengthing work in the schedule to improve core and hips to keep IT band issues at bay. I enjoyed watching the bit of film of you doing your 5K, slightly worried that the other athlete in the red and black stripy top was getting ahead - but you must have put in your negative split for the last km as he was behind you at the end of the race - nice one!
ОтветитьI'm new to your channel. Love it.
Please tell me why. When running 10km races my left foot mainly and then the right
There's a strong burning under my foot to near my toes. What should I do to resolve this?
One of the things I notice in the pictures is that your posture has improved- this is something I am really trying to dial into when it comes to my training — anything specific that has helped you with that? Workouts/practices? Thanks!!
ОтветитьThe trick is to grow much longer legs
ОтветитьJust got 18 flat for my first xc race. I want to go far in this sport. Thanks for the tips
ОтветитьGreat tips, thankyou!. What do you recommend in regards to warming up before your 5k pb attempt?, I normally try and just do a 2k easy
