it’s pretty dangerous, where is you harness and helmet on via ferrata
ОтветитьDamn, what a nice trail and great video to cover it. The Dolomites truly are a unique treasure. Have you ever thought about going to the Wetterstein mountains (Zugspitze etc.)? Jubiläumsgrat and Blassengrat could be a really fun and demanding ridge linkup for you guys
ОтветитьTime to make the trek to the mountain at the center of the world.... Kailash.
ОтветитьThe name “Marmolada” derives from “marmo”, that is “marble” in English. So the Marmolada is a “marble-like mountain”, and I think anyone can agree on this.
The name of the summit, “Punta Penia”, comes from the Italian word “punta” (i.e. summit), and the local dialect words “pi nia”, that in regular Italian would be “più niente”, meaning “nothing further”.
Another fun fact: the cross on the summit is 3343 mm (millimeters) tall, to represent the 3343 m altitude of the summit.
Great video and guys. What trainers are you wearing? Grip looks great
ОтветитьThis is the most amazing sceanery I’ve seen you hike through. Hope you had a chance to soak it all in in spite of your blistering pace. Just wonderful!
ОтветитьI can name almost every mountain you see in the video, and I have walked almost every path you have gone through, but oh guys you really gave me goosebumps! Thank you so much for appreciating the place, and for showing all this beauty to everyone! I can’t wait for the next part!
ОтветитьSo, for non-U.S. people: length is 160 km, elevation gain is 10000 m officially, 12000 according to Mediocre Amateur. My sincere compliments for choosing that route, it’s actually one of the most beautiful around here. Next time, you might consider the “Dolomiti di Brenta” area. You won’t regret it!
ОтветитьHow incredible is this! So EPIC! Felt all the FOMO feelings ;-)
Ответитьas always, I love everything about this
ОтветитьSeriously considering adding this to my bucket list!
ОтветитьBooking my holiday to Dolomites ASAP! What stunning scenery and always epic adventures. Best thing I’ve seen on you tube in ages. 👌👏
ОтветитьThis would be a 7 or 8 day trip for me in my aged decrepitude. Beautiful views.
ОтветитьChase put it perfectly, “Dumpling soup, nice macchiato, and good coke…” that would keep me going!
ОтветитьYou guys rock!
ОтветитьI've been to the Dolomites last year, and it's hard to find mountains as photogenic as these. I think you've picked the perfect way to sample them, because my way was far from ideal. Even though I went in September, it was still crowded, and there are just way too many cable cars and ski resorts. Finding a nice lonely hike is hard, but I did find an amazing area, basically the southern tip of your journey, at the Parco nazionale delle Dolomiti Bellunesi. No cable cars, no crowds, authentic quaint villages. France and Slovenia have better solitude in their mountains. In France, the Queyras and Ecrins are great for that. If you are looking for a challenge, look up the GR54 in the Ecrins. It's supposed to be the hardest in France (but it wouldn't be for you guys I'm sure), with 12.8 km of vert' and 184 km. People do it in 12-14 days. I wonder if you can do it in less than a week. And there are many many opportunities for some nice summits and one-offs. Look it up, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
ОтветитьI'm thinking about Mexico maybe.
ОтветитьThose cows. I come across them on the mountain trails I run here in northern CO. I know they're docile but they look at you like they will eat you if you get too close. I always give them a wide berth.
ОтветитьSounds like fun. Four days, no problem as long as weather cooperates. What an adventure. Something to put on the list for sure. Absolutely stunningly beautiful. Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьAmateur my arse! 🍑 amazing work
ОтветитьAlta Via 2: Alta Via Harder
Ответить"We've chosen to do the big number 2." Haha! I see what you did there! Well done!
ОтветитьYou guys are crazy, can't believe the distance and elevation gain you are able to pull off in a day! 🤯👋👋 It's always great to see you on familiar Alps terrain! It's totally different to watch a video when you know vistas and trails, compared to your videos in the unfamiliar American mountains. It gives a totally different perspective, cause I can appreciate even more what you are able to pull off. That second day is just totally insane 😲😱 Can't wait for the second part, I hope weather was merciful 🤞 I want to enjoy those views 😍
ОтветитьHow do I get legs like these guys. I hit 10-11 miles in a day and mine are dead.
Ответитьwow what a view! hope I go there some day
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьNever understood the need for speed...the region is to beautiful to rush...
ОтветитьI wonder if I ever skied at Alta on a day when Danny was there
ОтветитьWhere’s Christof at? Dude always fuckin sends it
ОтветитьGo Danny Go!
ОтветитьY’all are killing it. I get stoked every time I see a new video. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
I nearly pumped my fists in the air when you said “there’s still a lot of uphill, and even worse, downhill” yes yes that felt validating. The downhill always kills my knees much more than uphill kills my quads/calves.
So awesome. Wish I had friends who were into doing this kind of stuff with me. This is definitely on my list.
ОтветитьWow! You've been to a lot of scenic places, but this has to be top 10.
ОтветитьDynamite 🧨 🎊 ❤
ОтветитьYou dudes on just on a whole other tier. I'm surprised the likes of Red Bull, Salomon, etc haven't come knocking on your collective doors for athlete sponsorship. BEASTS.
And holy crap is this stunning terrain.
All this just reminds me I need to renew my passport.
ОтветитьThis is my favorite hiking route in the world. Thoroughly enjoyed my time…not having to worry about camping each night helps too lol
Ответитьwow! stunning views and what a sharp camera!
ОтветитьThanks for a new video!
ОтветитьI liked it, then unliked it, just so that I could like it again. This is the best one you guys have done yet.
ОтветитьAwesome!!
ОтветитьAnother winning episode as usual.
ОтветитьAWESOME VIDEO!!!! Thanks for producing these. Was just in Wengen and did the Rotstock via ferrata + Guggihutte, inspired by you guys.
ОтветитьBeautiful journey! And some of the drone work was very well done.
Ответитьmind blowing
ОтветитьWould love to see Danny do a Vlog on the prep work and post recovery before and after big runs like this. Love to see some content on nutrition, physical maintenance, and planning.
ОтветитьWelcome in my home mountains guys. Anyway you should keep it easy and enjoy more the experience in its entirety. I'll wait for you in the sky season🤘
