Virtual DJ 2021 vs Serato DJ Pro - Which is BETTER?

Serato have not the auto cue for the headphones , when i mix in the wedding very speed With vdj i don t click the butto cue in controller.....

By the way your review is complete garbage because you always could change the view in the screen and the look and everything of virtual DJ You've always had the option to make your own skins or change the skin so that bull crap you mentioned is a bunch of bull crap

Virtual DJ is the best DJ software hands down ain't no one ever going to be able to argue against that serato DJ is such garbage It doesn't even work half the time This is why they had to come out with serato studio by the way and include DJing in there too Because their first DJ software is garbage

Bro vdj is kinda free u just make a new account when the 30day trial runs out.

I've got them all serato, rekordbox, Djuced and vdj but vdj is my go too programme and has been for last 20yrs its just so easy too use and its completely free even if you're using it with a controller.
Djuced is trash it needs a 4 channel soundcard were the others can get by with just 2 channels, rekordbox doesnt work with my controllers but I still like playing around with it on my laptop,I don't bother much with serato dj lite because quantize is locked out and their stems don't work that great when compared with vdj.

Lets just Agree that Virtual Dj is Designed for Programmers Djz. If u dont understand the deep side of softwares u are'nt going to get the best out of it... So its a Proffessional Software but not Industry Standard.. It just doesn't have thr swag... I do Love Both of them but Virtual Dj is The best out there and if u consider that we are now in 2023 so things are evolving. Lets just learn to adapt....

Kinda weird claim that they're dedicated to rolling out automix to get rid of human DJs'. They've hardly improved the automix for ages whilst rolling out human DJ friendly features like Stems. They're clearly NOT remotely dedicated to robotised automix LOL

I think their "mission statement", what what that is worth (we all know that all companies' missions are to make money anyway) is to use the power of computing to see what can be done with mixing and playing music. They're not fixated on reproducing traditional setups in a computer form. However, the stated mission doesn't matter anyway because all of the major DJ apps do pretty much exactly the same things anyway. If Serato was dedicated to human-only DJs when why did they implement sync and quantise? Because it's possible and people want it. Same with all the other firms.

The idea that you have to use Serato to "playing clubs" is silly IMO. If you wanna play in clubs you'd do better buying Pioneer and Rekordbox because they emulate the CDJ gear you're actually likely to be playing on.

Having said all that, I like Serato. But you get less for your money (have to pay for packs that you get for free with VDJ. And when the fuck are Serato going to program in the change of pad mode on the controller being reflected on the screen FFS? It's ridiculous.

Very biased review

Ive always perferred the look of virtual dj than serato which I found too basic looking like the difference between windows and DOS. Not sure how you can draw the look when Virtual Dj can be comoletely customised, Ive even got a Serato skin for mine so not sure that was objective.

I think you got it al wrong. Vdj isn’t just for auto-mixing. I dunno anyone who uses vdj that uses auto Mix. The days of cd decks and true turntables with pitch sliders to match bpm are gone. So technically it’s all auto mix now. Auto bpm, auto pitch, auto gain, auto key, auto pre saved states. Auto ques. Like cmon. Old school real deejaying is Gone and both programs now have auto features that you use. Don’t say silly things.. love your mixes and deejaying style but don’t say vdj is for automixers. You’re one yourself to a certain degree.

So in reality, VDJ's business model is to get as many kids as possible to sign on to the monthly subscription by making the bar seem so low. Personally, I find VDJ too bloated. I have been trying for a decade to get VDJ to do a proper basic radio style auto mix and still can't it to work right. Either have annoying gaps between the tracks or you have tracks that fade out too early, even if it's a split second.

VIRTUAL DJ is the Best to me tryed serato it is vary unstable keep crashing and lags and interface is to small

I know this is old but I’ve wanted to use Serato for a long time but it crashes on me a lot. I thought it was my computer so I bought a very expensive top of the line laptop with the best video and sound cards as well as well as a high powered processor, 8 GB RAM, and over 1 TB internal storage. Still crashes! Called SERATO and they couldn’t help me. Virtual DJ has never crashed on me. I would love to use SERATO but I’m afraid to use it at a gig because of the crashing. Just my 2 cents! Am a bit late here but people don't really care what or which program you are using, the most important thing is that how do you utilize the program, how do you entertain the people because at the end of the day, they need good music no matter the program used. I've seen better Dj's doing cool scratches on different programs , My point here is we don't really care if you are auto mixing or manual mixing, all i care about are the following, (sound quality,transitions in and out , and perfection) meaning it depends on the users creativity.

I just came across your video. I kind of knew it was going to be biased but, you do have a point on the Name of the software! It hurts the integrity of the DJ and makes it unappealing. So I’m a S9/PLX1000 wedding video DJ myself and in 2023 VDJ is just too packed with features that makes serato primitive… i have serato suite as well. So your right it’s all about your workflow and what works for you in the end.

IN REALITY PEOPLE DON'T CARE OR DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT DJ SOFTWARE U HAVE. THE ONLY ONES THAT WOULD SAY SOMETHING IS OTHER DJS. PEOPLE DON'T CARE, THEY JUST WANT TO LISTEN AND DANCE, THAT'S ALL.

What I can tell you is that after watching this video twice. I tested 4 programs myself Serato 3.03, RekordBox, Virtual DJ 2023 and Djay Pro. What I found was Virtual DJ runs in RAM and the other programs are "more" CPU intensive. So I had an old HP laptop AMD Ryzen 5 and bumped the RAM to 64 gigs and swamped out the SSD for a M.2 SSD NVM drive and now VDJ runs amazingly smooth while the other programs would randomly crash and lockup without warning. At the end of the day is about what works for you, how you mix and song selection. So there you have "my experience" with it. And $299 for a lifetime software license...you can't beat it!

On Virtual DJ, if you batch analyze the files, you will have access to the sub files, crates or what have you.

STEMS 2.0 VIRTUALDJ 2023 sound very much better than Serato Stems. Can't wait to see Stems in Rekordbox in 2023 :)

The Serato moiré on the Rane72 screen looks terrible, and Serato told me it was a Rane problem. But Virtual DJ's ripple effect looks great on the 72's screen! ! ! The difference is very obvious! Not a grade at all, what is the reason? ! !

The clue is in the name “virtual” why have a programme do it all for you, takes both the learning and fun out of dj’ing

I have always loved music but I am new to learning how to DJ. With that said DJ's that grew up with records and turntables are very skilled musicians that learned how to mix by ear. On the other hand, I prefer to have AI beatmatch and mix perfectly so that I can have a seemless mix of the music I love. My biggest complaint of All DJ's is the fact that they tend to play popular music and not music that sounds good to them. A true DJ plays music that is hard to find and gets the crowd moving. I just Downloaded VirtualDJ and Love it with just an hour of trying it out.

I'm a serato user now but started with virtual dj,what I only like in virtual dj which you don't mention is the history,in virtual dj the history is cool and better than serato history, sometimes you just feel dull to start a party but you last gig is crazy you can just switch to the history and you are good to go 🚶‍♀️

Respect. But as a user of both for many years your opinion is as you say.... that of a serato user and biased. VDJ is hands down better in every way and is more versatile and customizable which makes it perfect for any dj as they can make it 100% exactly what they need. Looks and functions. You were sooooo wrong about VDJ with literally everything you found wrong with it. Apparently 1 week wasn't enough bro...
It's clear that you don't want to admit VDJ is better than you tried to make it seem. Be honest bro. Use it for more than a week. You missed a lot and therefore misrepresented VDJ grossly.

This comparison isn't exactly unbiased. VDJ look and layout is FAR superior to Serato. I'm not even talking about customization and skin. I'm just saying from a functionality standpoint, you get way more useful info, better library view, etc on VDJ.

compare it ffor a mechanic. you can use a screwdriver to work or a power drive screwer and get it done . dj isn't about how reluctant you are, but how much you actually put into the final product for the audience to enjoy. if you are against virtual dj it is a bit hypocritical of you, because instrumentalists and band players can call you a "fake" for digital mastering audio. on a side note, you HAVE to learn how to pronounce the word "stability".
