How Much Does Higher FPS and Refresh Rate Really Improve Your Aim?

I thought I was just trash at Valorant until I played it on my friend's proper 144 Hz gaming setup. My laptop sometimes falls as slow as 15-20 fps during intense firefights so I'm at a pretty severe disadvantage during these sorts of situations and it's really frustrating sometimes. I usually have a k/d of about 0.5 but once I tried playing on my friend's I instantly improved to about a 1.5-2 k/d. Totally unrelated but I'm now in the process of building a gaming PC...

so should i cap my FPS to match my refresh rate of 144?

Yes it does effect my main is bronze 2 i have hard time since im playing on 60hz but on my friends account that is gold and had 144hz i was like hella op i was having fun for the first time since i could see the diff on computers with diff hz

Been playing on TVs and 60HZ for 12 years almost. Lost thousands of gunfights like the last one. Recently upgraded to a 165HZ hoping to see an a slight increase in game as I broke almost all kovaaks PRs of mine by 200-300 points.

I get my 165hz today, and I wonder how it will affect my aim. I play on a 60hz that is why I'm curious how it is when I switch to a higher refresh rate.

When I play in 60 hrz I will stuck in between iron 1 to 3. But when I switch to 144 hrz I reached to gold 1 in just 1 week..

Im switching to a 165hz monitor and upgrading to a pc i think itll make me generally better because i get a lot of frame drops on 75 hz monitor

I cant wait to finally get me first new pc ive been playing on 60fps for years and when i try to play on my cousin's pc well what can i say theres a huge different.
Its easier to track the enemy no more drops in frame!!

Does buying new monitor can change fps?

Ngl when i started val i had to use custom settings to lower the settings so bad enemies was blurry from far or sometimes up close but i would drop 30 kills etc when i got 144-240 fps on a new pc I am dog water might go back to my pizza oven to game again 😭

My friend has drastically improved after changing from 60hz to 144hz, I'm d3 player and he was gold 3 and even i was surprised how much faster his shots were, (i still play on 60hz 80-90ms so maybe His shots seemed faster)

165hz - 165ms

Its also probably because your used to it being faster and the player like me would probably feel weird for the game to be so much smoother than I usually play in

Thats a jump but can you tell me as a person with inconsistent fps should i max it 75 since thats my max hz or 60 since i dont see much of a difference to play in 75hz and when i fall in frames i fall from a building while i fall from a house in 60

dude i got 144ms in human benchmark test using 60hz.

I am a silver 1 player on my normal laptop 60 hz avg fps 90 and for some reason I can't play at my best on it but with my gaming laptop (which i get like once a month to play on) i top frag in gold lobbies with no problem and get constant 144 fps

Those extra few milliseconds give our brain so much more info that helps us track and flick more accurately

it doesnt improve your aim but it does help you to play the way it used to be. I'm a 60hz and 50fps laptop gamer and i felt that when i play compe it's just too uncomfortable because it affect the timing and the momentum that's why 140hz is the proper set

Going from 60hz to 120hz is a day and night difference. I have a 60hz monitor and when i played on 120hz. I was hitting shots that I normally miss on 60hz. Basically flicking and hitting moving targets becomes way easier 😂

Just try playing haven mapat 60 hz...go to c spot on the defending spot aiming and hiding at long c and look at the middle of your screen while moving the mouse just a little .... it looks like the game is bugged

went from 30 fps to 240 fps, went from silver 3 to plat 1, but ngl I thought I was gonna be immortal lol. Casual high ego silver player lol

Are they matching refresh rate?144 to 144?If not swill happen. happen.That is why old emulator games or your hardware ports,games stutter,not match, system to TV fps,so look for that.I am not sure with new games on new hardware still needs matched system to monitor or could be hardware but if your hardware up par it will be not matching.

valorant is a game that doesnt require high fps, just skill

it probably depends on how good you are. I mean you can be radiant with 60 fps
