I like his style, I think if I were any good at table tennis I'd probably play a similar style, considering I'm the same height as him too.

I've never seen a player winning with so much grace. From an asthetic point of view it's pure joy to watch him. Also he has a very unique style, that no other player has: His return of the serve is not just relative aggressive but also very smart. He shoves the ball in a very flat angle. It seems that other players just shove the serve because it's part of the game. But for Samsonov it's a part of showing dominance, control and introduction to his plan.

I'm still a novice at the game and this compilation is thrilling to watch. I have a question about some of the shot choices though.

When a player is standing so far back from the table, why doesn't their opponent try drop-shotting them instead of almost always smashing?
