Well I'm going inside of silver hand and each time there is no right door maybe because I was getting book for Gale first but idk what to do

So i read the book and passed the first two saves, but failed on the dc 20 save (playing as a bard). Do i need this other book from the vault to bypass the dc 20 save or do i still need to pass that save?

How much do you have to read to be able to sacrifice your knowledge for the stat boost? And is the stat boost of +2 onlt for the character that read it? I’m trying to get it on my sorcerer for 24 charisma.
