One of Bens strengths is his insane shoulder flexibility, he get so deep into scap retraction that the ball gets even more deception than his insane velo would imply

Tbh, after watching his mechanics breakdown, I’m a little bit worried about his health. His torso is open when the front foot strike, and his lead leg block is leaking energy , and young pitchers like him ,heavy, with high velocity are the kind with high injury risk. Just want him to stay health, cuz he’s just filthy!

Understand that mechanics is not what make you throw hard. If it was girls could throw just as hard as men. Is having the correcto throwing program and increasing the variables that influence pitching velocity and hitting exit velocity. Is how you develop your body to make it transfer that strength into the throw over time. Dont think is too eqsy as just put the arm in the correct position and all of the sudden youll throw harder than joyce.

Dude is a freak. I thought Aroldis & Hicks were about as much 🔥 gas as you could throw but Ben said hold my beer. In the 90’s a 94-95mph fastball was considered elite. Since the mid-2000’s it’s slowly ticked up to 99-100 as the regular elite fastball from the top power pitchers. Now a 91-93 slider or cutter is a normal thing too from power pitchers😮 We see the occasions freakish power arm hitting over 100.

I played HS ball & was a 3B but worked my tail off at pitching. I built a pitching backstop from a picnic table & extra wood & parts. I used to throw every day whether it was 95 degrees or 17 degrees here in NY. I can visualize the first time my curve broke substantially 12-6. That was a triumphant feeling. Now I’m stocky & athletic but not tall. I truly believe that if I had more height I could have at least played college & minor league ball as a pitcher. I studied & tinkered with pitches, mechanics, grips, etc in an almost scientific manner obsessively. Actually the other day the neighbors son was visiting from Mass & ran into him as we hadn’t seem each other in years since we were kids. He brought up me pitching in the backyard in all types of weather during all hours of the day & laughed at how you’d hear the loud thud of the ball hitting the wood even at night. Anyway, I consciously & obsessively worked at arm strength & velocity. My FB topped at 81. That was freaking hard to attain. It involves strength which ai have a lot of but lacked the leverage & whippiness that comes from longer limbs. My Dad is 6’0” & my Mom 5’0” & I landed right in the middle. It could have been worse as my Mom is likely closed to 4’11”. Point is these velocities are insane & it’s hard to comprehend how starters can throw 90-100 a game & still hit 99mph in the 7th or 8th. The strain on the arm & shoulder is insane. I probably threw 120 pitches one game in HS where we got destroyed like 20-8. My arm felt like it was going to fall off. I have painful bone spurs at my elbow & am sure there is a lot of scar tissue & junk in the elbow area.

Anyway, these dudes are freaks. Though I love football & admire basketball along with other sports like motorcycles, archery, skiing, etc baseball is ny favorite. I truly believe there is nothing harder to do than hit or pitch.

More like 101-102 ave. 97-98 mph point of release vs. few feet from plate
the silliness with deceptive velocity measurements is to hype the game
How many complete games has this clown thrown ?

He's like Roger Clemens in his body type. Broad, tall, strong big dude with great mechanics that should save his arm in the long run (especially since he's already had Tommy John surgery). Like Clemens, he generates power from his lower body and core, which takes some pressure off of his arm.
