honestly I just needed a little reference, in my case as i live in Austria I looked up the Policeforce in Austria/Vienna and holy cow Vienna has only around 7,5k Police Forces and Austria as a whole has around 31k. But Austria also has only a little more People living there than in NY so the relation between citizens and forces kinda matches.

What I don't understand why the relation between Vienna and LA doesn't match as Vienna has only 2 Million Citizen but almost as big of an Police Force as LA with double the Citizen and as far as i know much higher crime rate.

Also, the Chicago PD academy is the biggest joke ever. More than 50% of the time you sit there doing absolutely nothing because there either isn’t the facility for it, short staff, no instructors, fucked up schedule, you name it. Majority of the time you get thought these bs topics that only look good on paper but every Officer knows is just a huge waste of time and they have to do it cause of the consent decree. For firearms, you don’t even get to shoot any long guns, get to unload them or anything. For them to even be able to take a rifle class you have to be off Probation and get on the wait list to take the class to become certified to be able to carry a rifle on duty and you better have a phone call if you want to take that class. The range currently is closed because it’s disgusting and there’s too much lead residue everywhere. You would think you learn and actually do driving, traffic stops, scenario shootings and stuff, no you do all those like 1-2 days and that’s it you wont ever do it again throughout the whole academy, but you sure will learn hours on end about officer friendly. That academy is a joke for real.
