When they put the base together it was shorter then what it was suppose to be, a tip u might put the post and side together to get an accurate measurement.

I am SO happy to hear you've decided to homeschool your kids!!! You have a great Governor but even she can't keep all the indoctrination out of our government schools. You'll be teaching them HOW to think, not WHAT to think. I don't envy you digging those holes. Take your time and don't overdo it. The results will be awesome though!

The two of you are so well informed and on top of things .. the lesson the kiddos learn from you will take them through life without out the confusion of the schools now..

Why didn’t you let them figure out half of 37, and half of 14. They could have pounded the stakes and run the string between the posts. Gary did most of the figuring and measuring. Where was the learning? Seems like the kids were just gofers. They’re going to be bored really fast. Not every parent is cut out to be a teacher no matter how noble their aspirations.

You were smart for getting them out of public schools. It's gotten stupid.

Your children are extremely fortunate to have you for parents. Learning real life lessons is so important. It's sure the way I grew up and never did me any harm. The difficult part will be ensuring their education also includes real world knowledge that will allow them to integrate smoothly into society when it comes their time to make their own way. Home Schooling is a great way to learn and congratulations on channel for being so cool

this is the best thing you have ever done ,home schooling your kids will be awesome ,and watch thier grades improve out of sight , 3 kids one teacher ,makes a big difference ,when you have class rooms that are so full its hard for any child to get top marks ,and also they will have hands on with just about everything in life that matters

Great math lesson for the kiddos. Homeschooling is great. They will learn so much to use later as adults. The schools have changed so much recently. Values and morals have gone by the wayside. Books are censored and acceptance of society norms are being taught. The things you're in control of is whats important. Plus the kiddos are safer.

I would have built 1/2 the gazebo frame to find out where the footers need to be before I would have done all of that measuring. Lol Take plenty of water breaks doing all that digging in the heat. Have fun teaching the kids.

Just a heads up. My husband bought me one like that. The high wind bend my all up. Once you build iT, add extra bracing for the roof. To repair mine, hubby removed the metal and put in wood. It's way heavy duty now

Hi guys, great decision on Homeschooling as you will be more involved in their education than most others. Also I love how you are getting the kids involved and showing them the importance of math in how it is used in practically everything you want to build. Now on squaring up any structure after you have decided on your strait line to square off of pull a 6,8,10 using an intersecting swing arch of 6 and 10, this will be close and then pull your diagonals to fine tune for a true square. This should help you not to chase your tail so long trying to be so particularly exact starting off.

Ohhhhh, if I had hands on learning math like this when I was young, I may have been a lot better at it. Good for you and your way of teaching. Not only that but your children can use all of these lessons in the future. God Bless

Four years ago my Brother saw between the lines of My Nephews elementary school pushing BS Things Kids shouldn't be exposed to. Also not teaching real USA 🇺🇲 history and teaching fascist nonsense so he Jerked my Nephew from that school and Started Christian home schooling him & that kid is extremely smart. If i had to guess he's pretty close to Genius level & I read his 8th grade term paper & if i didn't know it was his I'd have thought a Ivey league College History professor wrote it . But it was correct history not lies the teachers are telling them or not telling them nowadays! Proud of you guys in taking on home schooling, its a lot of responsibility and as my brother said its not easy. But as he told me you have to be careful with what organizations you're getting your homeschooling material from. Just make sure you check out good about who you're getting the schooling materials from. My brother gets my nephew's materials through some Christian organization who has ties to Liberty University in Virginia. It seems to be top quality accredited material and my brother told me all the USA and World history is Accurate to what we was taught before schools was infiltrated with teachers and Deans teaching incorrectness with a purpose. Glad you're doing what many have resorted to because they don't trust their children are getting an education instead of being indoctrinated in things that have nothing to do with education. 👍🏼😎👍🏼❤️

Two loving, very sensible parents..as a grandparent I’m very concerned about the school curriculum and standard of education here in Australia and the West generally..love what you had to say..simply put, your guidance will set them on the path of happiness and achievement☺

I was never great at school, being one of those who was slow on learning, specially in a crowded school room, but being a farm workers grandson, I was given life experience while helping out around the farm with feeds, fencing, building etc etc and mechanical work, and it was surprising how information gained with hands on work seemed to stick in the memory banks so much more than it did in the classrooms, so for one who was labeled as "not so bright" , I got to hold down one of the highest paid jobs in my area, whilst those who were more qualified academically struggled to gain employment in their chosen fields, so home schooling is great, and trust me it was no breeze or walk in the park, I had sterner taskmasters out of school than I ever did in school.

Why dont you get David to come and level that for you then you can put the footers in ??? Also Gary that big tree dosent look healthy and should come down on the pagola that you going to build !
