Much more benefit from a high tech party doll. At least she wont try to kill you when your least expecting it and the young techy types, as with this contraption, will get a real kick out of the innovation
ОтветитьAny more developments or updates? Just love to hear more. Concept is really ingenious
Ответитьnot a fan of the electronic aspect of it I want something simple and as foolproof as possible
ОтветитьThe orcas around Spain will love this. More to destroy
ОтветитьI am not aware of any production cruising sailboat manufacturers who have incorporated this into their standard boat configurations.
Sailors are usually looking to add a knot or even half a knot to their speed to enjoy more time at their destinations or weather avoidance. Perhaps in the future.
what about roll over, can it right a boat that has capsized?
ОтветитьAny real-world examples? User reviews?
Ответитьthis is not good . if the foils heat to something and brake than it not going to work the way it use to be.
ОтветитьHeck, can this there a manual version?
ОтветитьMore to get tangled in fishing nets and fishing pots. !!!!! Just buy a Gemini 105mc catamaran instead ⛵️
ОтветитьThis is not realistic or practical in normal life.makes for good entertainment though 😲
ОтветитьWhat happens if You wipe out with a spinnaker?
ОтветитьFantástico!
Ответить$ ?
ОтветитьНа катамаран такое возможно?
ОтветитьAbsurd complications. Tons of drag. Mechanical systems that require maintenance, etc. A multihull solves all of these problems in a much simpler way.
ОтветитьJust get a cat.
ОтветитьIt would be great to see performance differences as the boat is sailing with the wing up and with the wing down at the same point of sail and wind speed.
ОтветитьSounds great, how much?
ОтветитьFour years later and I haven’t seen any of these.
ОтветитьWhat would be the cost not only of the system, but the structural upgrade to the boat? Oceanis 40 or 47.3?
ОтветитьConsider speaking louder and making the background music less loud. It is impossible to listen to your video without constantly changing the volume.
ОтветитьThis will definitely find any weak links in your rigging. I'm no engineer but generating lift against the push of the mast should result in some major forces on lines and the add on stabilizers. A yacht with this built into the keel may be a nice option. Someone should jump on it. I'm not a big sailor but love my boats. I can definitely appreciate the idea.
Ответить"Getting into the planing mode"
Ummm...that boat will never ever plane off. Can re name it "Flapping Rooster" with those chicken wings hanging off the sides. And the first good storm will likely rip them wings right off.
ОтветитьIt's expensive, vulnarable and inpractical when docking/in harbours etcetera. Maybe good for braking records in ocean races, but most of these racers do not stay in one peace and often have big problems with this kind of systems. For cruisers it's a nonsense solution for a problem that does not exist. Another system that can break and requires maintanace. When it breaks in bad wether conitions in high seas; you have a BIG problem wich I would not want to have in the middle of the ocean.
ОтветитьNov 2021 and I just stumbled upon this. Wasn't our last America's cup in 2021? I see they had the conceptional design of the AC75's five years beforehand! I guess I don't have to ask if this revolutionary technology ever went forward.
ОтветитьIt would need to weigh about 3 tons, be made of steel and have triple redundancy in the actuators to be used in long term real world conditions.
ОтветитьI've long suspected our old yachts will soon be obsolete, and various types of foils will become the norm. And of course the outrigger has existed for thousands of years - you can throw on some extra sail and cruise at a flatter attitude... Jolly good show, chaps! Best wishes!
ОтветитьAn inevitable development. I'd guess ridiculously expensive and very likely unreliable. If used to reduce keel weight failure in heavy weather would be unsafe. A generator would be needed. It will probably be confined to superyachts.
Weird English mistakes. Why can't they get literate native speakers to check their English first?
i am curious as to what has happened with this product. lots of interesting questions put forward. Was there any further development as the Americas Cup has spiked a lot of interest in foiling monohulls, even though there are many differences between racing and cruising .
ОтветитьDamn! It’s ugly
ОтветитьFoils only offer dinamic uplift at high speeds. "Foiling" at 4, 6 or 8kn makes no sense at all. Furthermore, you're putting more weight over the waterline, more systems, more electronics, more battery consumption, etc.
ОтветитьEven if it works... you still end up with an ass ugly, stupid looking boat.
ОтветитьBel sistema con molti vantaggi. Prova di raddrizzamento in caso di scuffia?
ОтветитьFantastic product. Why not hire a native speaker to edit the dialogue, tho? Awkward grammer is a turn off. Of course, this goes for all too many foreign made marketing projects. Is this also true of American companies trying to market their products 'overseas' as well?
ОтветитьI love it. Will it work or be durable or cost effective, I don't know. However, the ability to reduce rolling at an anchorage or dock is alone worth looking into it unless you have never spent days at an anchorage rolling your guts out.
Ответитьmusic is not supposed to be a distraction
Ответить@sailinglavagabonde - what do you think
ОтветитьWhat would happen if you hit something and break the wing off. Now you left in the middle of nowhere without a proper keel and at the mercy of the weather.
ОтветитьI enjoyed the Calculus, Geometry and Physics lecture. I have found most of the information on the internet is like getting a weather forecast. Everyone repeats what they have heard; no one verifies the facts or even knows what the facts are.
Allow me to ask you a simple physics question; take two round objects the same length and size, both have the same nose cone similar to a jet aircraft.
Object A; starts the gradual curve to the end (tail/stern) point at 50% of the length.
Object B; starts the gradual curve to the end (tail/stern) point at 75% of the length.
Simple Question: which object is faster given everything else is constant; Object A or Object B.
Last question what is making Object A or B slower given everything else is the same (constant)?
So... this technology exists since 5 years and only now made it to racing boats in the America's Cup?! I just recently wrote a comment thinking that racer technology is what trickles down to production boats... now, I wonder what other awesome inventions are out there, that have yet to make it to a racer and then to production.
ОтветитьCan this be afterfitted on a Amel 50/ any bluewater cruiser?
ОтветитьPiss the music off.
ОтветитьBS
ОтветитьHere in the Netherlands our old sail freighters (froom 1800 orso) used a more simple and rugged system. on both sides, the ship has a large vertical dropshaped blade that can be lowered according to nessecity.. The dropping and hoisting is done using a rope and some blocks. the tear shape with the rotation in the point of the tear makes it possible to partially lower the blade if neccesairy. The system showcased here is very ispace consuming and unnecessary complex.
ОтветитьLooks ugly
ОтветитьEspero que ganhem o processo que fizeram contra a violação da patente 😃👍
Ответитьguess the 36th AC defiantly proves this concept
ОтветитьBrilliant!
