'not' is not the part of word classes, it is just for showing the negation in a sentence. you may search it out, it cannot act as an adverb.

Why did you call the negative particle " not" an " adverb" ?

Isn't "am" in the last sentence "a linking verb" not "a helping verb" that links "I" with the adjective phrase "pleased with you"? Or I'm wrong?

Respected mam, I dont think one verb is consider as a verb phrase because a phrase consist more than one word. that is the definition of a phrase and even in the old english grammar they do not consider one word phrase. well this video is simple and so informative. i would love to get suggestion on my above view.
