can we see more ultracraft reflex content? not sure how the gk2 is "the best printer" (not considering price) when the reflex exist. Am I missing something? I've only seen sponsored reviews on YT

Something you didn’t mention about screens. We don’t have to have 16:9 aspect ratio screens. There is now real reason they can’t get square screens or any aspect. It’s not like mono screens are widely used in tech. If they are getting to the point of having custom made screens they could play with the aspect as well. Also I agree with the whole 8k, 12k, 16k nonsense. Just tell us the pixel size. We want somewhere around 20 microns.

I'm not suuuuuper sold on the vat heater yet, as opposed to heating from underneath the vat. That's because I remember years ago on Reddit that some guy tested out by heating his vat and measuring the temperature. And he found out that the resin in the center of the vat will eventually cool down, while the edges of the vat remain warm. Unless you can somehow mix the resin throughout the entire print duration, you might end up getting some inconsistent prints.

The absolute dealbreaker for any printer out there right now, is the software. I dont want to have to use Citubox, Halotbox or Lychee

I'd like the companies to have suggested PWM settings for the printers. My original Mega 8K had a massive bleedthrough problem until I realized I could turn down the intensity setting to help prevent it on larger prints. Or have a masking layer that can handle the full power would be nice.

Are there resins that aren't smelly? Is the concept of non-smelly resin printing attainable at all currently? I am hypersensitive to smells and particles in the air, so even a small amount can cause me asthma attack like symptoms.

All I want, aside from cam levers cause those would make life so much easier, is a freaking drip tray. Resin splashes everywhere and if any of it gets across the surface and down into your z-axis motor it will kill the motor immediately. Happened on my elegoo and I'm thankful my mars DLP has something of a drip tray to guide it away from the motor. Sure I clean the front of my printer but at least i'm not having to replace motors, boards, and bearings (oh my!) cause stuff got gooey.

Pretty much sums it up, although this is going to add a couple of zeros to the price. Not sure why the hate for the Mars Mate, though?

Fun subject. I'd add one more vat feature: no sharp inside corners. Put a nice fat radius on those corners to make them easy to clean. This is one of my few gripes with the GK2. I find myself just giving up and not always getting the vat completely clean on that printer.

Prinitng the support with the different is a feature that we have to pay in ChituBox pro.

I think I'd like to see more thought on safety.
Carbon filters are nice, but don't remove VOC. There should be at least some kind of filter built into the cases. Even if it can't vent outside, you can recycle the air inside the machine through the filter and just remove Some of the bad. The manufacturers could even then sell replacement filters so a nice little upsell for them. Win win!

Agree with what you said. ALL calibration models should be built into the printer. Printers also need a temperature sensor and tell you whether your print is gonna fail, or include a heater. Whenever you have a new resin, the printer should have a button that simply say "I got new resin!" and it'll make various test prints and ask you to tell the printer which one performed best so it'll remember which resin in what temperature performed best.

Regarding the camera on the Mighty 8K … when I installed the 12K upgrade kit, Phrozen did not include code in the firmware to even grab screen caps in the app. My solution was to swap it out with a spare Ring stick up camera I had. Works great in low light and I can access it through my Ring app with my normal security cams.

truly open source with a permissive licence like MIT, it will quickly become the best by a community, and small start ups making innovation and money, till a cheaper open source version of the innovation comes out.

I noticed my m5s heating up the resin during printing. Started having fails when the temps dropped and when I touched the resin (with glove obviously) when cleaning the vat (the cured sheet) it was nice and warm

I really want to get into 3d printing, but most filament printers do not offer the detail and ones that come somewhat close to resin are super expensive. Resin printers use well...resin and all the problems that come with it. So until a safer material than resin comes along I'll stay away.

It is so bizar to hear all the leveling issues. I have an anycubic photon S. I have leveled that printer I believe 2 times. I moved flats 2 times as well and did not even have to re-level after moving... I also have a Saturn 3 12k. I have leveled that once when I've got it and did not have to level it again.
The anycubic is through about 20l of resin (yes - the screen is nearing it's end) and the Saturn had about 7l so far. So I think I have printed a fair few times on them. But as I mentioned, I only had to level the printers the above mentioned times. I think people are doing leveling wrong - or I do not know what is going on :D

What about a resin vat that overflowed to a sump when it was more then say 1mm deep. If that sump was heated and costantly pumped back to the vat, you have consistantly warm, constantly adjitated resin flowing aceross the PFA. This would also work like a automatic top up system, maintaining a constant, very shellow resin supply.

so your ideal 3d printer is just a Form 3?

Nice video! And very fair comments about those printers, that is why I like this channel so much! This guy really knows what he is talking about. And bought a reflex back in Sep, they worked incredibly well for printing minis, the most stable and easy to use printer I have ever had, saved me bunch time and effort on adjusting the printer. Money well spent for me

People have tested those carbon filters. They do literally nothing.

The resin industry is just sitting around waiting for Bambu Lab to step in and dominate the market just like FDM.
