I have no idea why those people were full on stopping in the middle of it though. The brake is to slow you down if you're going too fast NOT TO FULL ON STOP.
Dude was definitely in the wrong but the people that run that place are also in the wrong for not making it standard to tell people not to come to a full stop while on the ride.
