The first was janky, this looks kinda sketchy… low textures, plan level design, spongey, goofy dialogue… it’s everything that’s been said about RE, it’s just missing that touch of authenticity, touch of lore and scare

Gamestop wanted to charge me $54.96 for $39.99 Daymare 1994 Sandcastle standard edition...

How the hell does that make sense

Enjoyed Daymare 1998 because it was an original RE reminder in some way. This one looks bad especially the combat.

This was a horrible game. There wasn't much action, 95%of the game she was just walking around looking for stuff, they didn't explain the monsters she was shooting at and why they were attacking everyone and the ending was weak and left with more questions

The game borrows the 180-turn from Resident Evil 2 remake??

The mechanics of 1994 don’t feel good. The original was wonky, but passable as entertaining. The encounters and enemy placement in this one are just obnoxious as fuck. Enemies don’t get knocked back, stasis is way too temporary to feel powerful, and there’s way too much combat. A shame, it has a neat vibe too it.

Also, voice acting and dialogue are outright awful.

So they took the remake evil 2 crap then added dark souls clone. I'll pass.

Honestly, the biggest flaw and bullshit of this game is the Combat, the enemy is too bullshit quick that they all gang up on you. Also the Frostgrip just when you need to give them the final dead blow after freezing them, you released your tank is empty, which I find totally bull that punching the frozen enemy need the frostgrip amount. The submachine gun is a peashooter and basically useless. Only the shotgun is a good one hit kill.

At least the protagonist is a pretty woman instead of the man faced uggos or roided out gender bending monstrosities like the AAA studios are oddly putting out these days

So playing and beating this game on both on PC and the Xbox Series X. I have a few thoughts. Firstly the developers has truly stepped it up, both graphically and frame rate consistently, however, that being said I noticed on the quality mode on the Xbox series x struggled to keep up displaying textures at certain parts, It is rather inconsistent when it happens, but during cutscene and after reloading to a checkpoint the textures drop to potato status before updating itself. Not game breaking but with some further optimization, it should resolve the issue. Performance mode I didn't experience texture dropping and of course the framerate hits 60. Pc I didn't experience any issues.
As for the gameplay, it is technically better than the first game. The first game Daymare 1998 was kinda all over the place, trying to please action horror and the survival horror crowds. Daymare 1994 focus more on action horror. Which is fine however, the enemies do make the game rather difficult overall, even at normal difficulty. . The "red enemies" especially sucked hard. They are way too quick, they need to slow down a bit. I have died multiple times by these guys before I even get the chance to react to them. My suggestion is make them more of a tank enemy, that takes more ammo, of course the freezing mechanics. The blue ones can be slow down too, but make them as a swarm enemy to "overwhelm" the player. Finding items, like ammo or health packs were too bad, the beginning of the game I had over 5-6 health packs for whatever reason, but later in the game they were incredibly sparse, I would have made the beginning overall more easier for player to get adjusted to the gameplay mechanics and how to use the Hades "freeze gun".

Sux. I’m on easy and die all the time. Weapons reaction is to slow and weapons switching is also to slow. Monsters are on you all the time even if you shoot them or freeze them first. Out of ammo is common. It’s just fight after fight with multiple teleporting monsters that come at you from all sides. The monsters are way to fast for the weapon draw, switch speed. And assist aiming is a joke. Sometimes, I try to draw my weapon but it just doesn’t draw. Freeze aim is weak and pointless because it takes so long to freeze a monster that another is on you instantly. Monsters are way to annoying and weapons to inefficient. And why would you have monsters swarm the player during a one touch kill boss fight. Never again.

I've just finished this game, its worse than the first.

The combat is annoying and not enjoyable, the puzzles have been dumbed down and the weapon selection is poor.

They've gone backwards.

The game is hard on easy mode the dead come back through electricity like the COD zombies teo guns smg,shotgun bunch of jump scares the frost takes too long the cut scenes are like RE1 1998 but $35 something to do

This game is fun, tho from my experience on ps5. The cutscenes seem to run 15fps and animations are alittle stiff.

Looks like it has an identity crisis. They should’ve kept to making a survival horror, it still looks ok though.

This will be a pickup but when its on sale or eventually goes to my psplus subscription had the 1st one and just gave up on it

The Story option is still too hard to play later on in the game, make the story mode easier, people that want it harder can choose the other options, stopped playing after 90 mins, don't get through the combat anymore, too hard

Now that's hiring at a higher click that I would giving it. The character models were horrible and yeah, that dialogue and acting was even b movie bad.

I played the demo honesty this one felt and look better then the first which is how games should be improving with each installment

Haven't played this, but it seems like (being set at Area 51), the enemies should be aliens instead of zombie monsters.

A good game and good priced, played 2 hours, but as indy survival horror games go fobia st dinfna hotel is still the best i ever player i really hope they make a 2nd game
