How to Restore PROJECT.DB backup file in DaVinci Resolve | Quick Tip Tuesday!

Hello i tried same way and it not working.

in my case a shift+deleted my project library from %appdata% folder then i recovered with hetman recovery
i replaced everything :( ...

Just wanted to add that they changed from project.db to timeline and they are easier to acces not leaving the program.

Just my edit that i been working on all day to prepare for client next day. Upon restart the timeline was empty, no backups either. Great tutorial.. even though it didnt help me.

Didn’t work for me :/ I press refresh but my .db files still don’t show up in my project manager.

So, so helpful. I almost ditched Resolve as my main editor because I couldn’t figure out a way to use auto-saves if the database became corrupt or inaccessible. THANK YOU!!

Hi Jason, Thank you for all of your video's, You are always my first port of call, when I am in trouble with Davinci Resolve, and that's very often. Thing is my lap top was pretty high spec. in its day but it is now struggling and it seem Davinci Resolve 18 is just to much for it. I think my Nvidia Gforce Gt 540M could be the weakest link. Whatever I have deleted Davinci Resolve 18 and tried to reinstal 17. Davinci Resolve 17 now only seems to start with a projects data base screen, and my projects which require all their databases being restored, which is why I have turned to this video. However On following your wise words, I suddenly realised I can't get to the main Davinci Resolve screen. That's the page with "Davinci Resolve", File , Edit, etc. the timeline and everything else. Have I missed out something with my download from Blackmagic, or am I missing something obvious. Keep up your magic work Pippa W

Love your Channel! I just upgraded to DR 18.6 (After backing up my databases) and my latest timelines only show up as folders with another folder inside that reads "Batch Renders" and it's empty:( I'm on a M1 mac. ) Would you know a fix please?

I had this "great idea" of syncing my Resolve Database between my work and home computers so I always have the most recent project files in either location. (I can't use Blackmagic Cloud due to Firewall restrictions). At some point my sync overwrote the Database in the wrong direction...operator error I'm sure. This video helped me find the backup on one of my computers and get me right back on track!

Omg thanks man, i had a issue where my windows broke it's self and I didn't make any recent database backups but I had the db backups on the old drive and after searching for hours I'm happy to say this works.

I have no idea why, but my backup was not saved up to where I had worked to, even though I had set Resolve to backup my project every two minutes. I guess I'll have to start from scratch :(

My project backup icon was not on.. I mistakenly cut (command x) all my timeline and clips from media pool and lost it in the process... How can I get all my missing timeline back to my projects, everything is blank in the project, please help me

All I have is 'user.db' and can't find project.db anywhere in my pc. Is there a way to restore my projects?

My main file is reading two months ago and my one back up file from the day I need is not working either. :/ Not sure what to do.
