I'm getting a PD catheter this coming Friday. When on dialysis do patients normally do the automated peritoneal dialysis like this or the manual way?

We must STOP the human torture 3 times a week by hemodialysis. Stop thinking only for money. Be human.

Something is not right in our country to many people are coming down with kidney failure

if the machine tell you warming sulution after initial drain what is that mean?

Anybody got any tips to make the "drain pain" a bit less painful? Just had my first night on the machine, woke up every time the drain cycle started, any advice would be appreciated

56 and my GFR is 39 so praying a while yet ,although I was GFR 49 less than a year ago. Feel sickly thinking about it.

Not exactly the way I do it, but close, it was fun to see how other regions do it. There is a lot of emphasis on cleaning my wound site, even though it was placed 10 months ago. Also, I am trained to clean my machine with bleach/water solution. And I do not have a connector between the line from the machine and my catheter. And thank goodness I wear gloves that I change a couple of times during set up.

My aging, nearly blind Mom arrived yesterday, and is going to be staying with me on a sudden, emergency basis. She needs help to do this type this dialysis, and I was stressed beyond belief last night, trying to figure out how to do this for her. With this instruction, I was able to successfully do her dialysis today. Thank you SO MUCH for this video!

Interesting video, I like the way you load the cassette, but my PD nursing colleagues and I are shocked by your double handling technique when connecting the bags. The point of the blue organiser is so you can safely remove the cap from the line and leave it while you remove the cap from the bag, and THEN bring the two together. How do you expect to routinely and safely prevent touch contamination with double handling??

Curious about the supplies laid out at the beginning. There is no Mini Cap included, even though one is called for the close the transfer set.

My Father’s got a Automated PD Machine that uses 3 Dialysate Bags and has 2 Drain Bags. 😯
Also when the supply shipment comes in, we never get those Connection Shields for the Safety Lines right when you connect the Patient Line to the Catheter Line.😱
